Most awkward part of the movie

Yeah, the lil girl was cute, but it would work if she was younger, I think a kid that age would see, as Bay puts it a "giant fucking robot" instead of a lil tooth fairy, ruined a classic scene for me. And regardless, dont use the fact that she is a child to cover horrible acting.

Also, when I saw this in theaters, that is one line that had no laughs at all.

I also, when BB peed on the guy, the only problem I had with that was the speed of the cap that hit Simmons. I think his reaction woulda been more like, OUCH, and then he totally scratches the part of his head the cap didn't even touch.

Some eye lines were off.

But I didnt find any part of the movie that seemed awkward to me.

For me it was the way in the Bumblebee/Barricade chase it went from day to night so quickly. Just the way it was done looked like a huge section was cut out.

The 'night shift' seemed to happen quite often.

1. Blackout flies in at, oh let's say 1 in the afternoon. lands at dusk. and transforms at around midnight.
2. The bumblebee/barricade battle in which they clearly drove cross country. props to barricade for not letting up the chase.
3. At Glens house grandma scolds him for playing video games, again at around noon, the door breaks, the cops rush in and it's clearly midnight again.

I doubt these are continuity errors. Perhaps Bay just felt these scenes would look better in the dark. The man obviously knows what he's doing.

Since Bay and crew were paying the Military for operation of the vehicles and the pilots any idea if they were 2nd team shot? That would explain a lot.

something that I felt a little groan was when Lennox said to Epps "Bring the rain" and then Epps looked at him weirdly for a few seconds and then Lennox says "Lets kill these things"

I think its awkward is because I thought Epps delivered the line with more intensity during the Skoroponok attack and then Lennox does it but ever so quietly. I dunno, it just felt out of place or poor delivery. Either that, or the same line was spoken 1 too many times.

The things I didn't like was:

1. Sam out running barricade when he jumped of the car and closthed lind the girl.

2. The getting dark realy fast durring the car chase (some else brought that out)

3. I also agree with the reply about Optimus picking up the glasses. I think those glasses would have broke being so fragile.

4. Sam being able to hold the all spark. I know it shrank, but i think it should have like been heavy. i dodn't think he should have been able to hold it with such easy.

Those aren't continuity breaks. It's called jump cutting (which has been happening since when movies were invented).

They are done conciously as the audience or the filmmaker doesn't have time to sit around and see every single minute in real time.

This was not an episode of 24.

I never liked the line where Fig says "My Mama got the gift; she could see things. I got that gene too, and that thing that attacked us; I got a feeling it ain't over." To me, it's a weak line and poor delivery. It couldn't have been less subtle if there was a big "FORESHADOWING" subtitle on the screen.

xXRavenXx I doubt they were second unit shots as they involved main actors, ( but some I believe could have been, but with very tight shoot scheduals) and as Nelson posted, I believe it was done conciously.

I have to differ with you. A jump cut is a jump cut, not a jump time laps, that would be a continuity break. A jump cut is totally different then what happens with the time laps in TF.

Continuity---one shot it's day time-next shot it's evening!

Jump Cut---one shot is a medium close up, next shot it is very slightly tighter, but pretty much the same shot.

There is a BIG difference.

EDIT: A continuity break is when an actor holds something, next shot it is in the wrong hand, similar with this, one shot it is daylight, next shot it is dusk, but totally different shots so the jump cut law doesnt apply.

A continuity error in TF was when Sam is trying to start his car after Mikaela decided to walk home, the passenger door goes from open to closed between shots.


A jump cut would be like the final shot in 300 right? When it zooms in 3 times?

But it was actually awkward when Megs. was holding Jazz'z dead body in two for over 5 minutes on the building.
And what the HELL were you doing Prime??? You rolled in with the rest of the auto bots, but decided to join the battle 15 minutes later??? WTF???

Also, Star Scream was absent through most of the end battle and just decided to watch, which seems in character, but all the above mentioned are very awkward!!!

Killing Bonecrusher and Barricade. That's where he was. We only got to see the one, but even then he was doing that while everybody else made their way into the city.

I dont think he killed barricade. I dont even think he fought him at all. Barricade just vanished and was a character who appeard first of the decepticons. Bay did a very bad job in time line telling with this movie. Also, I think Barricade woulda jumped in and ganged up on Prime with Bone Crusher, but I could be wrong as alot was taken outta the movie that we will never see due to budget issues.

Also, he wiped out Bone Crusher in 5 minutes, if there was anything happening with Barricade, it shoulda been showin via parrelell action. BAD BAY!!!

And yes devonnewberry, 300 is a great example of jump cuts and the door openining, next shot closing, good continuity break examples.

The thing is, you can jump cut all you want, as long as it works artistically like in 300. There were several jump cuts in TF, but were intended to be like that and added to the movies style. Like when the TF's were driving to the city, BB and Opty had some jump cuts with white flashes, but it looked very cool.

Well yeah, but you would probably go into some detail about the situation. Your friend has no idea whats going on. Last he knew you were taking "Mikaela" home. You dont just call someone to say 5 words then hangup. It has no relevance or value. It leaves the friend confused and maybe concerned about your sanity. There really isn't a good way to go about that conversation without adding fifty more questions - but still the call was completely useless.

Maybe if say he rode passed his friends house on his moms bike being chased by bumble bee it would add up a little bit more.

And then have Sam cut him off about BB...

The entire film is M Bay's worst as far as logistics.
