Default Most awkward part of the movie

What was the most awkward, or weird, or just not well done part of the movie?

For me it would have to be the scene where Sam pulls Mikalea off of her scooter and says "theres a monster coming" and then when bumblebee comes and he says "you gotta get in the car, just trust me"

The monster line was just awkward. I don't know if it was how it was edited or shot, or the sound design, but there was no sense of urgency in that part, and then Mikalea's reaction to a giant robot running at her went from "what r u doing sam!" to just crying. Since it was her first time seeing a robot. I think there should have been a reaction shot like there was with Sam when he first saw one. I dunno, that whole little part just was so out of place, but it quickly went into a car chase, so that was nice =)

All and all, there's few things i found wrong with the movie.

For me it was the way in the Bumblebee/Barricade chase it went from day to night so quickly. Just the way it was done looked like a huge section was cut out.

Duhamel on the computer to his wife and baby. That scene was just cumbersome to me. I've fast forwarded everytime I've hit it.

The 'night shift' seemed to happen quite often.

    1. Blackout flies in at, oh let's say 1 in the afternoon. lands at dusk. and transforms at around midnight.
    2. The bumblebee/barricade battle in which they clearly drove cross country. props to barricade for not letting up the chase.
    3. At Glens house grandma scolds him for playing video games, again at around noon, the door breaks, the cops rush in and it's clearly midnight again.

I doubt these are continuity errors. Perhaps Bay just felt these scenes would look better in the dark. The man obviously knows what he's doing.

Since Bay and crew were paying the Military for operation of the vehicles and the pilots any idea if they were 2nd team shot? That would explain a lot.

something that I felt a little groan was when Lennox said to Epps "Bring the rain" and then Epps looked at him weirdly for a few seconds and then Lennox says "Lets kill these things"

I think its awkward is because I thought Epps delivered the line with more intensity during the Skoroponok attack and then Lennox does it but ever so quietly. I dunno, it just felt out of place or poor delivery. Either that, or the same line was spoken 1 too many times.

Those aren't continuity breaks. It's called jump cutting (which has been happening since when movies were invented).

They are done conciously as the audience or the filmmaker doesn't have time to sit around and see every single minute in real time.

This was not an episode of 24.

I never liked the line where Fig says "My Mama got the gift; she could see things. I got that gene too, and that thing that attacked us; I got a feeling it ain't over." To me, it's a weak line and poor delivery. It couldn't have been less subtle if there was a big "FORESHADOWING" subtitle on the screen.

I feel a weird responding to this but, I'll be honest. The line, "only the greatest hacker in the world could break this code" really stuck out for me. I saw the film seven times and the revelation of Glenn's character never got the laugh I assume it was meant to get (although the scene where the S7 troops break into the house does! great stuff!). But people were snorting at this idea of some random friend of hers being "the greatest hacker in the world." It seemed like a needless bit of exposition for the Glenn character. I think that if the line had not been there it would have added a greater intensity to her scene-- what is she doing there? where is she off to?, etc-- and then making the hack scene slightly more intricate and intense, therefor demonstrating Glenn's awesomeness would have been for effective.

It's the writer in me, please don't kill me. After all, it's only one line!

Agreed. Go figure only one guy in the world knows how to break a certain code.

I know, I know... the obvious way to get me on this is, of course, Harry Stamper in Armageddon but *that* is a credible story point. You actually see the man doing the job before Billy Bob Thorton tells you just how awesome he is at it.

When the really cute crappy actress looks up and says, "Are you the tooth fairy" Plane stupid, horrible moment, got no laughs where I saw it and shoulda been cut. If I could, I would cut it outta my DVD when I get it.

I dont wanna start a new thread for this, so can somebody tell me, wasnt sam supposed to be named spike?

    Default No

I believe this film is meant to take place way before spikes time, maybe later on down the track spike might be introduced... in my opinion would it be a good thing, with the humans own transformer mecha, like in the cartoon series that the autobots designed for them...

The one spot that sticks out for me every time I watch is after Glenn says "Don't talk to me criminal", then they look at him for a few seconds - the way he looks during those few seconds is just really... really bad. I cant stand it when I see that lol.

One other scene is with Optimus at Sam's house. He seems to fall out of character when hes barking at Sam about the glasses.

Ouch, she is just a kid.

That line didn't bother me because I like that scene so much. I like the contrast of Ironhide being this giant robot climbing out of the pool and stepping over the little girl. It may also be because she reminds me of my daughter and how she would react.

BB pissing on Turturo felt awkward to me when I first saw it in the theater.

I kinda liked that line. That along with the music gave the Autobots a kidna angelic tone. This little innocent girl instantly associates Ironhide with something pure good, the tooth fairy.

The worst moment in the movie was by far the peeing scenes. And it felt kidna strange when Anthony Anderson dechiphered an alien language, wich every mind in the Pentagon had failed to do, in 10 seconds.

And about Spike.. Wasn't he the older brother who later turned into Fortress Maximus' headmaster?

Okay, I love Transformers with a passion. It was a great movie. The sounds, the filming techniques, the graphics, the soundtrack, the character, everything was excellent. The one thing that sort of gets to me is that some people think the robots voices are cheesy. I know that I liked them. They didn't sound quite normal, but they did sound like robots who were strong and wise and saw the big picture. The Voices fit them most of the time. And while I understand why the 'greatest hacker in the world' part, there is no way on earth that guy could sttick that flash card into his computer and breake it in ten seconds. It was funny how fast he was, but I understand why they filmed it lik that.

That wouldn't belong at all if not for MoJo Peeing. After that you can accept "BB stop lubricating the man.". Other than that if we are talking about lines there are a few that were delivered akwardly, but there wasn't anything that made you stop in the middle of the movie. Same with the cg. There wasn't anything that I could sit there and say wow this looks fake. Even the so called "bad shots" were great. But if you look at it there are a few that aren't as perfect, but wow. Look at most of the other films out there. 300/Transformers for Oscars. wow, the cgi was great.

Yeah, the lil girl was cute, but it would work if she was younger, I think a kid that age would see, as Bay puts it a "giant fucking robot" instead of a lil tooth fairy, ruined a classic scene for me. And regardless, dont use the fact that she is a child to cover horrible acting.

Also, when I saw this in theaters, that is one line that had no laughs at all.

I also, when BB peed on the guy, the only problem I had with that was the speed of the cap that hit Simmons. I think his reaction woulda been more like, OUCH, and then he totally scratches the part of his head the cap didn't even touch.

    Some eye lines were off.

But I didnt find any part of the movie that seemed awkward to me.

The things I didn't like was:

    1. Sam out running barricade when he jumped of the car and closthed lind the girl.

    2. The getting dark realy fast durring the car chase (some else brought that out)

    3. I also agree with the reply about Optimus picking up the glasses. I think those glasses would have broke being so fragile.

    4. Sam being able to hold the all spark. I know it shrank, but i think it should have like been heavy. i dodn't think he should have been able to hold it with such easy.
