What about the original Transformer Fans

Mr. Bay, i think you totally forgot about us true transformers original generation fans. First, the transforming sound could have been keep with a slit metal sound add in. Optimus Prime was a red flat nose van and now its a different model with all sorts of colors.Thats a reel big mistake. Most of your robots look like a bunch of cables and wire... they are suppose to look like solid metal.

You also forgot important carracters like soundwave who could have look the same but maybe with I phone carracteristics. After all he's Megatron most loyal soldier.

It looks to me like you only thought about the new generation. I dreamed of this movie happening and as soon as i saw the movie trailers i knew what kind of deception this movie would be.

I know the next movie is not coming out till next year. Please consider some adjustments and try to be more faithfull to the original transformers and also to us true original fans...

Y'know I don't think Bay "forgot" anything, he had to pick and choose certain concepts that work in 2007 that were invented in 1984, and add a few new ones. His was not an easy job and included walking a fine line between G1 purism and a bankable Hollywood film. Cut him some slack.

He made a movie for everyone, which includes the fans.

Not everything that the fans like are accessible to the general audience such as the logic of Megatron being a gun.

I think that if you got Steve Spielberg or James Cameron to direct it, he would make the changes as well. It probably won't look like a car commercial but the updates / changes will definitely be there.

I am not really sure how to reply to this because I once thought like you. But I came to the realization that many concepts that worked in the cartoon simply wouldn’t work in a live action film. Soundwave, for example can't be a giant robot and change into a small IPOD. And the reason the flat nose truck wasn't used was because it would have made Optimus too short.
As for the look of the robots, I have to admit I didn't like the look at first but then I realized that If they are Alien Robots they have to look Alien and not something that looked like it could have been build on Earth. Having the robots look exactly like they did it the cartoon wouldn’t have worked ,although I admit I wish they had similar facial characteristics. Perhaps this is something they will look into for Revenge of the Fallen
I know there are purists out there, and I respect that, but that doesn't mean that you can’t have an opened mind.

Watch the extra features. Shia sums it up very well where he says keeping it the same as the cartoon "Would be great for the 25 of you on the internet".

The extra features show in detail how the old concepts just would not work in a movie like this. For example, 18ft robots transforming into handguns. It was a good idea to make them transform into like sized objects.

Yeah, Bay should have kept it true to the original and have Megatron transform into a pistol. Not... First time I saw that as a kid I laughed. And I'm still laughing now. Like they said in one of the docos on the DVD it would be like having Darth Vader turn into his own lightsaber and have someone else fight with it. What a joke.

FFS I hated the cartoon. The movie is fantastic.

I Meant something that was familiar, like Jazz's visor. Movie Jazz looked nothing like G1 Jazz but he had the visor.
