    Default Why do we obsess?

I think the reason I do is because it calls back to a simpler time when I was a boy w/ responsibilty and always had afternoon catoons to come home to. Optimus Prime was the role model we all needed and clung to back then and as time goes on we see the decline of Saturday morning cartoons, after school specials, and any small idea of good wholesome mindless fun...that had some moral message behind it. I know that Im older now and the cartoons are geared towards the new generation, but if you notice everything is being rehashed and redone b/c I think it all speaks back to the time when we , as Transformer..GI JOE..HE-MAN..Mask fans, grew up those were the times when you were allowed to bust out of the boundaries of what was right and realty based. I for one love the fact that every toy I played w/ as a boy is popular again b/c I can share that w/ my son. I think it was a simpler time, even though it was only 20 yrs. ago, when people embraced creativity and morality. What do you all think? Theres obviously a reason we all cling to these boards and voice our opinion...FOR FREE. I think its because we long for our childhood again and we are seeing it come full circle again . This is not a bad thing in my opnion but it does make me wonder "Why did these 80's toys/cartoons have such a huge influence on us as chiuldren and later as adults. Put that in your pipe and smoke it. Enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our love for the toys and cartoons we enjoyed back then was what shaped us to become what we are now, and we don't take that for granted, that's why it is still alive in our hearts today.

I honestly have a reason why I obsess. I have a severe anxiety disorder, so anything that makes me happy in the slightest causes a little bit of an obsession. I've had different things, but nothing like this for a movie. (I have one for music too, but I digress.) I hope this one sticks around a bit. I kind of like being known as the robot girl at work.
They call me Ratchet Girl for a reason. Sometimes Skids girl.
    Yeah, I'm a girl...SO FREAKING WHAT????
http://www.youtube.com/user/Taybrian1 I'm a Youtube star! (Not really, I just get bored.)

Dude...you weren't even alive to experience the 80's! Although, I am impressed with your ability to relate to what ariggsy1976 was saying. I look at todays cartoons and shake my head...where's the message.

Trailbreaker...I hope you don't take my comment as a knock against you. You continually impress me with your wisdom beyond your age.

LOL I know I wasn't, but I can see what's going on here. Thanks for the compliment.

I was alive in the 80's! :P Just 3 months before the 80's died, actually. lol Serioulsy tho, it doesn't matter what yr u were born. Transformers have been around since the 80's. But since then, people of different age groups (young and old) have developed an obsession for Transformers. Age has nothing to do with it!

I obsess because it keeps me out of trouble. Actually it doesn't, but I have something to talk about when I'm in it.
