I stopped posting there a long time ago, in part because of my admiration for Mr. Bay. Every time there's a TF2 post, a bunch of idiots from the talkbacker squad have to totally trash out MB and the first movie, and I just got completely sick of it. One guy really, really upset me.

They were doing a giveaway of Steve Jablonsky's awesome CD score, and I wanted to check it out, but when I read the talkback, one guy posted "You know, I can see [Michael Bay] listening to the 'Autobots' track, driving down the road in a convertible with the top down letting some 'actress' polish his knob" Well not only does this insult one of my favorite directors, it also makes fun of a powerful track in the movie score, honestly one of the most inspiring pieces in it.

I wanted so bad to let into this idiot and tell him if he's going to think thoughts like that, he needed to keep them to himself. There were a lot of people slagging the movie but that comment just sent me over the edge. Eventually I just quit trying to defend Michael Bay because those fools are just beyond being reached.

Well Grapple, all I can say is that you won't find that BS from anybody here, and if you did, it would probably get deleted as soon as possible and he idiot would be banned thanks to our awesome mods. I am really amazed by how friendly the folks are on here which is why I have been an active member here since February. Considering that you are a junior member as of this writing, I welcome you to this safe haven on the internet.

I know where you're coming from. I disapprove of such childish behavior myself. Although I have never been to this AICN site (And don't indend to) I have visited simulare sites were people have posted comments such as this. I'm willing to bet that if another director had done TF and had done the exact same thing Mr. Bay had done in that movie, there wouldn't be anybody complaining about it. But because Mr. Bay did it, some people feel they have to insult him and his work.

Wow. I didn't think anyone actually read the talkbacks at AICN, which is a pathetic attempt at a movie news site. Chud's average day has far more interesting stories that AICN has in a month, seriously. On top of the pathetic fanboys that AICN calls there "critics". I seriously laughed out loud at Moriarty's <i think it was him> "Crystal Skull" review in which he said the movie was so perfect and brought back his childhood memories so well he literally left the theatre in tears. Okay sorry we were talking about the talkbackers. Yea, you definitley shouldn't bother, apparently even Bruce Willis dissed Bay in their talkbacks during his fan Q&A pre-LFoDH.

I have to admit, even though those talkbackers are complete and utter douchebags, I laugh at some of their posts.

I used to visit AICN a lot....but now I just don't have the time. ::sigh:: Work work work...which I must get back to now. Just checking in for a moment, seeing what's happening here.

One of the things about AICN that I hate is that no matter what the movie, they will almost undoubtedly praise it in one of their "reviews". The movie could be Uwe Boll caliber, and they'll still drool all over the movie.

Yea, Chud lambasts AICN by saying they praise everything as a "Brilliant Masterpiece", which is just wrong. Harry apparently LOVED Emmerich's Godzilla, Episode II, etc, and has since recanted, which is almost acceptable, but they're such fanboys, you can't be a level-headed unbiased critic AND be a fanboy.

See, that's why i LOVE Chud. They are CRITICS first, geeks second. Even Devin, the toughest critic, is sensible sometimes. Ugh, Oh how i used to LOVEEEEE AICN, back in the day.

Serenity is better than Star Wars...

OK before I get raped... Star Wars was down hill after epi 1. Serenity has the potential to be lost more. Shame it wasn't embraced.

I haven't even seen Serenity and barely even heard about it so I can't judge the two.

Serenity is better than the prequels, yea, but........very boring on it's own. Never watched Firefly, maybe thats why i didn't like it. But it's the filmmakers job to entertain the non-Firefly fans, and apparently they didn't quiet succeed.

I think Serenity's biggest problem was it felt to much like a tv episode. Like everybody already was supposed to know the characters...the last 15 minutes was good viewing I thought...

Serenity was great. It and Firefly both had good action, but not much of it.

I think what makes both the movie and series is classic whedon banter and humour.
