I'd put this in the Platinum Dunes thread but why bury it?
Trailer for "Unborn" is now online and it looks great!

Okay, I CLEARLY should have titled this thread "DUDE! GARY OLDMAN!"![]()

Yikes!
Looks good indeed. Looks like it has touches of In The Mouth of Madness as well.
I guess Ms. Yustman didn't go unnoticed in TF.
Also, the trailer music sounded familiar at about 1:17.
...and Gary Oldman, FTW.
Horror was going down a bad road for me. The Scream movies were awesome, and I really did enjoy The Sixth Sense because it made me spill my popcorn *and* it had some real depth of feeling. But then we had the whole Saw phenomenon that I totally couldn't get into and after that, torture porn (Hostel, etc), which was even worse. Blegh, I could go on and on about what a cultural nightmare that was... I don't like movies that just torment you or films that are disgusting for the sake of seeing how far the director could push it. I just want a rush for two hours, y'know? Gets the blood moving.
Plus, Gary Oldman!![]()

Nice man.
I'll give anything Platinum Dunes a look.
Yeah, I'm not much one for torture porn either. I saw Saw 1 and found it an overrated piece of crap. I go into the suspension of disbelief mode when I watch movies, but I found it so bad it was laughable. Aside from suffering a few chronic cases of "just stop fucking talking and shoot you shit eater" and "oh wow, another pointless poorly explained twist", the real killer was the fact that:
- The killer was actually in the room with them the whole time, pretending to be a corpse
- One of the victims was a doctor and couldn't tell spot latex effects and the fact the "corpse" would have been breathing
Texas Chainsaw Massacre Beginning nearly fell into the torture porn category. I find parts of that movie incredibly had to watch.
My idea of a good horror film is Carpenter's The Thing. Or Alien
"...and that's the key to the room going down the drain in the opening sequence. Sigh. Why am I watching this? Oh right, because it's on Sci-fi and I can't find anything else on TV this late and I can't sleep."
and you sir, have excellent taste. I would have said The Thing FTW but then you brought up Alien. Brother!

That trailer looks pretty good and creepy.I'll see it for sure.
I don't care for the "torture porn" types, too sadistically like realistic.
Yeah,I would prefer The Thing or Alien as well.If you want horror starring Gary Oldman, the first one I saw him in was Bram Stokers Dracula. Other than that I would go for The Ring (Ringu) ,The Eye (japanese version) or even The Exorcist.
Saw "The Brood" last night at the Silent Movie Theatre and it was awesome, in a twisted, comical, really disgusting late seventies kind of way. (Cronenberg! 'nuff said!)
The last really spooky scary thing I saw in theatres was The Orphanage (it's in Spanish, with subtitles, produced by Guillermo Del Toro). It really freaked me out and stayed with me, actually...

you fail at thread titles 90% of the time. i just saw it today. I felt like it would be a good watch. kudos to those that put out horror movies around halloween!
So I saw the trailer for The Unborn yesterday...freaky as hell! I couldn't believe how much the lead actress (Odette Yustman) looks like Megan Fox. I couldn't fugure out where I've seen her before. IMDB says she was in Transformers, turns out she was the chick driving the Escalade...the one who was attacked by her steering wheel.
Later that night, I was watching Bad Boys. Bay really has a thing for hot, dark-haired chicks with poutty lips. Tea Leoni, Megan Fox and now Odette Yustman. Who else was there?
What about that great new poster for Unborn. Star Odette Yustman has a great...eyes. What else has she done?

Okay, just read the post about her being in Transformers. Funny, I thought that was Megan Fox. I need to get the hi-def version I guess![]()
I saw a TV commercial for Unborn, all I can say is F*CKIN' CREEPY!!!
