Continuing the gist from pervious news discussion.....

I don't think that Sideswipe is the worst name in the world for a warrior Robot but it's also not perhaps the best - I was actually a lot more excited by the idea of Stinger being a new and Original character.

As for Brothers or twins.

Wingspan and Pounce, Runamuck & Runabout, Twintwist and Topspin, or Raindance & Grandslam for example were all also that so it's not like any similar description has to only apply to Sideswipe and Sunstreaker.

I agree it is a small shame that we don't get one without the other. and perhaps that along with the choice or alt mode is perhaps one of the better reasons to raise an eyebrow at the use of sideswipe for that design of Character.

Speaking from a personaly point of view I'd much have prefered him to actually be called Stinger in the movie. It seems to suit the mode, and the weapons very well.
where as the Sideswipe name applied to that car seems to have not points of convluence at all other than being a warrior and a car.

I think "Sideswipe" will fit the Corvette just fine. The only reason fans are mad is because they - as usual - are using G1 as the only precedence for the film franchise, when we already know these movies are not Generation 1 remakes.

The multiple occurences of Sideswipe without Sunstreaker in many of the other series never seemed to bother anybody...

there were a few issues in the DW line of comic with the twins. It was great because every time you saw the twins you got two different views of the autobots/human relationship. Sideswipe wanting to protect the humans, and sunstreaker not wanting to stick his neck out.

and that there is the smartest reason anyone has posted yet on why both should be in the movie. I still feel that they will both be in the movie just for this reason. Conflict between brothers is always a cool thing in any movie. I just think Bay would be stupid not to have them both as there is so much more he could do with them both rather then having just one or the other.

I think maybe they both transform into same alt mode,thats why we saw two Corvette Contennial concept at Edward Air For Base?
I really hope they should, because that would be awesome
