It might be a basic fact of who we are as people, and citizens.
I'm not denying the complete failure of the Bush administration, the corruption and so on.
Just a small example of Bush nonsense happened in Iraq a couple of weeks ago. The Iraqi government signing an oil agreement with China worth over 3 billion...

What a joke, they should be paying us back first.
No it's a simple fact of free enterprise and individuality. Believe in individuals inspiring others, rather than the collective inspiring individuals. If the government becomes corrupt, like in Britain, Russia, China, the worst it's going to be is if there is a huge government with lots of powers, like under socialism.
Went to Britain 6 months ago, spent 2 weeks there, it's horrendous(small piece of advice, never go to Britain

). No freedom of speech, thought, movement, government controlling everything, everyone. A total loss of national identity, paranoid population(dumb as well), wouldn't want America to go that way.
I guess it's always down to the people in charge, no system in the world is immune to corruption.
