I agree he's dumb for drinking and driving but I'm willing to bet he wasn't wasted. He knows how valuable he is right now and he's not going to purposefully screw that up in one night.
I'm sure speed was more of a factor than his alcohol level, the fact he had a couple of beers made him an immediate target. It happens all the time.

this is why i told people to try not to bash the guy when all this info was first released as most news stations, credible or not report what they first know and dont bother to make sure their facts are all there. More news on the movie tie-in comics. According to IDW, the Destiny series will look more at the backgrounds of Optimus, Megatron and the Fallen character.Not to mention examine how Secter Seven reforms into a new group.

Its still another two weeks till the 4th issue off Starscream, but I can wait. With all the misinformation Michael is distributing on the internet, some of our bests hints as to what may happen come from the comics.

Unfortunatly it sadly looks like Megs may not be in it. Not sure if I like that or not being as that he was such a big character in the series. This is Michael Bay's Transformers though and have no doubts it will be good. Still would have been cool though to have seen Megs in it in his earth form. Though I guess there is still a big possibility he may be in it though.

I just thought that since the Fallen is going to be in the next movie, maybe Fallen ressurects Megatron as Galvatron using some power Fallen gained by working for Unicron.
This way, the story stays true to Megatron being brought back by Unicron as Galvatron, and it fits with the new stroyline.

Object collision actually is the greater priority over human space flight. The Earth gets clobbered by space objects every day, but the possibility of getting hit by something that could cause planet-wide damage is not only possible but likely. Going back to the Moon would be neat, but it's not practical or even a safety priority. Stopping at the Moon on your way to Mars would be even more pointless because having to stop there and get it all fired up all over again is a tremendous loss of fuel energy and momentum.

It's really fascinating because it's paid for by the Air Force and there's this whole moral quandry about who would be politically "responsible" if something did have to be shot out of the sky. (And if you check the "Science Fiction Movies" section you'll see that I am still ALMOST on-topic! FTW! )
