    Default SLR lenses

Question: Anyone here use those flexible lenses? (Lensbabies)

I have never used one and was thinking that might be kind of interesting to play with (amateur photographer and only amuse me, myself and I). Any thoughts on it would be appreciated.

Oooh ooh! Pick me! Pick me!

I don't have an SLR, but I have a digital one similar to a digital SLR. My aunt's a photographer, me an amateur one, along with my dad.

Fujifilm makes great cameras and lenses.

I'll ask about my aunt about that though. See if she's heard anything through her experiences.

    It's nothing a macro, or a low stop lens (f/1.2), or a tilt-shift lens couldn't do.

See, I just knew this was the place to inquire...

    http://www.lensbabies.com/

I'm looking at the above site and yeah, does say it's a f/1.2. So, this is a good buy and easy for folks such as myself, yes? Writer here, not a cameraman or techie type.

The 2.0 Lensbaby is the one I am leaning towards (looks to be idiot proof as much as can be) and it lists it has an aperture range from f/2 to f/8 (so much to learn). This is me venturing beyond the old film camera... sometimes I am stuck back in old school, so be gentle with me when I inquire -- it's slow going over here. Thanks for the info, it is very much appreciated.

And thanks Bee -- didn't you get a camera for your b-day?

    Yes, yes I did.

    It's a fujifilm finepix S700. It's sooo purdy. It has a 10x optical zoom and 7.1 megapixels.

I'll post some pictures later of how great a quality it does. I also played with the video aspects, along with some other things on it.

The lowest they go is f2.0., which one is at f1.2?

Canon makes a prime 50mm (f/1.2) but iy cost around $1500.

This is probably going to be a stupid question (if I don't ask I won't learn) -- do the Nikon cameras play nice with Canon lenses? I see Tamron and Sigma lenses can be used on the Nikon, but I'm not seeing Canon...

50 mm costs as much as the zoom lens I was looking at (and drooling). I'm not that much of a hobbyist, although I know you get what you pay for so either I'll have to go with the Lensbaby 2.0, wait and save my pennies, or just work harder... Something to add to my wish list along with the Karma Fisker.

I've seen that one -- I like how if fits in the hand/grip. I look forward to seeing your shots. Last camera I had was similar, but not as nice though and sadly I worked it to death (oops).

Awww, you worked your other camera to death?

My other camera was good, but I dropped it and broke the battery cover. It still works fine, but doesn't keep battery power for obvious reasons.

Anywhoos, here are some of my shots (of my TF toys...oh yeah, making it relevant to the forum). And so you guys can see how great a job Sora did on making my baby prime for me for my birthday.

I have more of my brother and my dog playing, but they're on my laptop and I haven't uploaded them to photobucket yet.

Sora really should go into a business that sells those kinds of plushies.

Isn't he and baby mojo just tooooo adorable?

She also included a spiderman keychain (spidey hanging from a chinese lantern) that's pretty cool. It's still in baby optimus' carrying case, which I forgot to picture.

Thanks. Glad to know baby OP2 is doing well. Now baby OP1 is away from home with me.

The lantern Spidey hanging on is the famous red lantern (It's huge!) at Asakusa Kaminari-Mon (Thunder's Gate) Tokyo. It looks like a giant robots' bedside lamp.

    *OP1 waves back at OP2*

Yesterday OP1 met Jack Sparrow, found the crystal skull, went on a hunny hunt, and fell from a scary tower and got wet. (Who wanted to take him along to the park was not me but my daughter.)

That's okay, Nelson answered the most important questions (thx) and had me go hunting. I went cheaper for now anyway.
