Two Casting Notes
Via TFW2005, its being reported that Steve Tom and Katie Lowes have been cast in minor supporting roles for Transformers 2.
Steve will play the CEO of McClaren Robotics and Katie (pretty) was cast as the resident assistant at Sam's dorm. Transformer tech plus a robotics company cannot lead to good things I am betting.

I agree with what the transformers live blog says. If McClaren Robotics were to find out about the Transformers on earth, and they probably will, they would most likely see them as a way to enhance their own products. They could ask, but I think they will try to pull a sector seven and try to capture one of them to use as a lab rat.
Heres hoping they get blown up in they attempt. Bumblebee has already had that awful experience. No autobots should. Decepticons maybe, but they would blow the company out of the sky before they got close.

In this article, MTV had a interview with the writers of transformers and transformers 2. According to them, the theme of ROTF is being away from home with Sam off at college and the Autobots who may never be able to return to Cybertron.
Also, there are no dinobots. Orci and Kurtzman could not explain why transformers would disguise themselves as dinosaurs in a world where no living dinos existed.

Glad to hear that they focus on a theme about the sense of "far away from home". That's what I liked most about Prime and his men in the first movie. Truly looking forward to seeing their "away matches".

I wonder if McClaren Robotics kept parts of the dead Decepticons? It could have a unique T2 feel, building a business out of a small piece of alien technology...
Then again, they could have kept Jazz and brought him back to life as a Porsche race car (sarcasm). Sorry, I couldn't resist.

Wow, as much as I like Grimlock I would not want to see Dinobots in TF2. It just wouldn't work out. I remember saying way back when I first joined the boards:

There's a fundamental issue here. I really don't see why an autobot transforming into a dinosaur would be practical. We already have cars and trucks and planes and all kinds of stuff for them to transform into. Plus, it ruins the whole "Robots in Diguise" thing. Turning into a big t-rex isn't gonna help you blend in very well! If there were Dinobots, their only purpose would be in the benefit of Hasbro, to sell toys.

The same news broke on TFW2005, the fans aren't very happy.

Dinobots COULD work if done the right way. Just need a creative team to come up with believable reasons to justify such characters. I kind of prefer how the Dinobots were introduced in the G1 comic (with Shockwave as an extra).

Well, its Friday night, and the transformers panel is tomorrow. I am completly excited to hear about any info Hasbro is willing to share of the sequel.
On the other hand, Kitt in the new Knightrider series is almost a transformer himself. I just saw the video released at the con where Kitt transforms from a truck to a car in a transformers, mechanical folding type of way. I've been a fan of the show a long time and watched all four original seasons. I have never seen Kitt do anything like this - and it looks incredibly cool.

Did anyone see this? Shia Labeouf got arrested for a DUI in an accident that he caused. TMZ is reporting that he injured his left hand in the accident and is currently getting surjery. Wow!

Don't care who you are, you don't drive after drinking, ever.

And if it's true that he's had to be operated on because of this then i hope it doesn't mess up the shot schedule.

It always amazes me when someone is stupid enough to drive when drunk...especially when they have more than enough money to call a cab. The only report of the surgery is from TMZ...not the most note worthy source. I wish the very best for all involved. For the younger ones on this board, PLEASE take note that drinking and driving is never worth it. Shia will get a slap on the wrist for an incident that could have killed several people. The average person would be in deep crap.

HOLY CRAP! NEW PHOTOS! I really like the look of the NEST H4's. I would love to see them transform, although I high doubt they will.
I am really curious to see how the ice cream truck (wheels/stinger) are going to transform. I guess that means they are the Beat and Trax compact cars???

My theory about these two robots: They are rough All Spark created lifeforms on the loose and the Autobots caught them in their ice cream truck form. They later join the Autobots and take on the Beat and Trax cars as alt-modes.

Sorry to change the subject but how does Shia's injury effect filming? I thought they said they would be finshed around October but doesn't Shia need time for recovery?

It deends entirely on what kind of injury it is...Or even if it's true that he's injured, the only source for the injury is TMZ, and i'm told they aren't very reliable to say the least

Well you've got to assume that he's hurt. As well as any type of injury would be noticeable in filming, so I doubt Bay would film if he's limping.
