oh I don't doubt that a bit. That could be a big part of it actually. But then for me to sit down and actually read is a huge step. I used to read a lot but lately it seems like I work so much and have other things to do just no time for it really.

Believe me when i say that if I had an 11th spot on the poll that would have been the next one up. Sorry, but I took the top ten that I though would have the most contest. Sorry to disapoint.

    Laughable, definitely.

Fourth one will end up like the Mummy films. HA!

That's the last place I actually read. Only reading I do nowadays is in forums and work related emails.

I know what the fuck a trilogy is. I just stated another way to look at it. I mean damn, there's more than one way to look at things.

But to try and point out that all of them were not trilogies I think was just silly.

LOTR is not a trilogy anymore with the Hobbit coming out.
Indy is just a series of adventures.
Spidy is another series of adventures.
BTF ends on the 2nd one.
Matrix and Pirates both end on the 1st with the 2nd having a sequel being the 3rd.
Bourne was the same movie 3 times.
In this sense the GF movies are the only true trilogy because each movie deals with Al Pacino's character life and what he does directly affects the movies story line progressively.

Its just another way to look at it when you get down to brass tax. Everyone calls them trilogies because there are 3, which is fine. I still call them trilogies.
Yeah, you're an idiot. The Bourne films were not the same film three times.

To me, it's the perfect trilogy. Each film has it's own beginning, middle, and end. Yet at the same time, it weaves a story told over three films.

The are all good except The Matrix, Spiderman, and Pirates of the Carribean. They all score a 2 out of 3. You can't compare the others they are tops in different ways.
I can watch them all over and over ( and I have) and still enjoy and find something new.

I tried to introduce other trilogies for those that are familiar with films outside of America would like. I seriously doubt there's no one here who hasn't seen John Woo's A Better Tomorrow pt 1 at least.

Hellz-to-the-yea! Part 2 had quite the climax i will say, P3 is great too, it's a prequel to the first film telling how Chow Yun Fat became involved in the mob, Tsui Hark directed it thou, he produced the first 2 and i will say 3 is my 2nd fav.

    Seen Hard Boiled? The Killer?

Oh man Woo's Hong Kong years <ABT pt1-Hard Boiled> is my all time fav era of any action director. I will say i enjoyed Broken Arrow and i still love Face/Off, but after Mi-2 i refuse to see any american film he makes. What a heartbreaker

His HK stuff is just one classic after another. Face/Off was good, Broken Arrow enjoyable, M:I-2....well it wasn't bad. Paycheck, Hard Target, and Windtalkers...

i'm sorry what WASN'T terrible about this movie......?? The climax was entirely laughable, with the spinning bike shoot outs and the mid air collisions, i was literally cracking up with my friends watching it. I enjoyed the climax of Hard Target more than anything in Mi2. The part where Van Damme and his rival run along either side of the wall shooting at each other was interesting.....of course that 1 part is just about all i remember from HT. See, i enjoyed Broken Arrow, but not enough to upgrade to a dvd copy from my pan and scan VHS tape. I was eagerly awaiting the Face/Off 2 disc when it was announced last summer, and i devoured it as soon as i could. Sorry that we disagree immensely over Mi2, but at least i can say i never saw Windtalkers or Paycheck .

Have you seen Once A Theif or Bullet in the Head? or i'll ask, what other non-Woo HK action have you seen? I have City On Fire <Reservior Dogs is a LOOSE remake of this> Full Contact <both CYF films>? I'm always on the look out for other early 90's HK action films, it's a passion of mine, has been for about a decade.

Haven't seen much outside of Woo. Bullet in the Head I haven't seen but I'm on the look out for.

M:I-2....I mean it's not the greatest movie ever but the motorcycle chase is pretty neat. I'm not gonna sit here and say I watch it on a daily basis though and that it belongs next to Hard-Boiled, The Killer, or even Face/Off. Windtalkers is actually BETTER than M:I-2 but it's nothing special. Paycheck...oh, it should have been more.

Yea, i was always the most curious about Windtalkers. Bullet in the Head is gonna be a HARD find, i managed to find a VHS copy years back and snagged it, now i see the dvds on ebay, amazon, and always get curious, i may break down and pay $30 for one, since it's out of print. Bullet is Woo's fav of his films and i must agree, it is pretty powerful. I just can't wait to get the Killer on bluray, i have the VERY poor dvd copy, looks just as grainy as the vhs copy i had forever. I just hope it gets the super-clean up it deserves.
