    Special effects and makeup guru Stan Winston passed away on Sunday, June 15th in Los Angeles, California. Winston was best known for his work for the "Terminator," "Jurassic Park" and "Predator" series, and Edward Scissorhands. The 4-time Oscar winner most recently worked on Iron Man and was special effects supervisor on the upcoming Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins.

    yeah that's true but tim russert man and stan thats a lot of deaths and they will leave huge voids

    No way! People like him can't die!
    I've always defended Michael Bay against attacks that his films are full of stupid explosions, girls in underwear and mindless characters... but then he made Transformers 2 and I conceded...

    My aunt met Stan Winston while writing a book on horror movie makers/writers/costumers (etc.) He was a very personable guy and a blow to Hollywood.

    I use a knife because guns are too quick. Otherwise, you can't savor all the emotions. You know who people are in their last moments.

    I stopped grieving over the loss of great people, because it saddens us so much. This might sound cliched, but I try to think they've just begun a new journey.

    Charisse was admitted to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center on Monday after suffering an apparent heart attack, said her publicist, Gene Schwam.

    Just seen that on the news. God, what an attractive woman. She must've been something back then.

    The loss of Stan is terrible. It's more than the death of a great and talented man, it's quite possibly the death of practical effects, for which he was a great icon. Bless him.
