Default OFFICIAL Transformers 2 NEWS Thread Part 1 [Spoilers]

    (nelson, could you sticky this?)

Instead of creating a million threads about set pictures and this and that, let's keep it into one thread so we don't make the forum a damn clusterfuck.

    http://transformerslive.blogspot.com/
That's going to be a good blog worth looking out after for the next while.

Not to sound like a downer but:

We tried these types last time, didn't work (with the exception of the toy thread). Unfortunately people would rather post first, ask questions later. (look at all of the "When is TF on blu-ray" threads as a current example) People have trouble keeping TF-related stuff in the TF thread as it is.

Don't get me wrong, I'm for this. (and will contribute) I just think think its a bit lofty to think that this being a sticky is gonna curb repeat threads.

    I'm trying heh.

I just hate logging on like 2-3 hours after I last visited and theres 37 new threads about the same shit. I think we should mandate this thread. Merge them all that fall into this category for the next year or so

Yeah, I know. But in honor of keeping this thread as a viable sticky for all things TF-news related, I'm gonna post anything that hasn't already been posted right here from now on.

no arguements from me about it! I think though being a sticky it will stay at the top of the list?

Transformers 2’ Will Not Just Set Up Third Film, Promises Michael Bay

10 Comments | Published by Shawn Adler on Wednesday, June 4, 2008 at 11:50 am.
First there was “Back to the Future,” and then “The Matrix,” and then, more recently, “Pirates of the Caribbean,” where literally the last thing said on screen during the second film was a cliffhanging new plot point. If you’ve got a successful franchise, why not link the second and third movies, forcing audiences to wait upwards of a year for resolution?
Because it’s friggin “lame,” “Transformers” director Michael Bay insisted to us at the MTV Movie Awards, telling MTV News that the second go-round with Optimus Prime would be entirely self-contained.
“You know how those sequels they do the second one so you go see the third one? ["Transformers 2”] is it,” he said, indicating that “2” would be its own story free from the duel shackles of set-up or resolution. “First one was just introducing, setting up stuff, so we can go a lot farther. Let’s just say [this] is not a lame sequel.”
If “Transformers” was all about introduction, then “Transformers 2” will be all about escalation, with reports that upwards of 20 robots will do battle in the blockbuster sequel. But for Bay, it’s not the number of robots present, but how they’ll be more fully and individually realized that has him excited, he said.
“The robots are going to surprise a lot of people because we go with a lot of different levels,” he teased.
Of course, that also applies to returning cast members, as well, who will now get a chance to go further with their characters than they did in the original. Shia LaBeouf will be in college (and taught by Rainn Wilson). But forget transforming robots or finals angst, Megan Fox smiled, the real transformation is yet to come.
“In this one I transform from a girl into a woman,” she laughed.
Good enough for us. Is Bay’s idea of a self-contained sequel better or worse than linked films? And would you like to see more personality and backstory out of the robots, or is it all about blowing shit up? Sound off below.

I would like to see each character (transformers more specifically) get their own spotlight. That would be very nice.

Default Is The Old Ice Cream Truck on the Bethlehem Set a Transformer?

Is this just a beat-up old ice cream truck sitting in a lot on the TF2 set, or is it more than meets the eye? Seibertron.com has a reliable source that tells us that the vehicle was spotted doing practice runs around the set and that it is actually a new Transformer - an Autobot that, according to our source, will split into two Autobot twins.

We'll have to wait and see if this one is true...

THIS WAS FOUND OVER ON SEIBERTRON.COM

Ok, Here's the background. I was sitting out around 4:00 am when a guy comes walking across the bridge. He was wearing a TF2 crew ID tag. Turns out he was security going home for the night. I ask him if they were going to shoot any more scenes since it's raining. He says there is going to be one more in which a Hummer in a military convoy is flipped over and a firefight ensues. This is fairly consistent with what it seemed like they were shooting for the final shot of the day later on.

Anyway this is the info I got from the guy.

He has seen several new transformers including a red Acura NSX, a grey and black Audi RS6, and an old looking Chinese ice cream truck with a domed top and ice cream scoop on the roof that he said will split into two twin Autobots. One of the guys who I was standing on the bridge with had seen an ice cream truck like this driving around the set doing what looked like practice runs.

Shooting will be extended into Thursday, most likely due to the bad weather we've been having.

Megan Fox has scenes that she will be shooting with Tyrese on Wednesday the 4th in which they are chased up stairs that run along the side of the blast furnace.

Shia will be in town to film scenes on Thursday

Overall the guy said that a good chunk of the movie is taking place here.

These are just rumors but I would say that they are somewhat believable, especially if people start seeing Shia or Megan around town.

And that's not all, Chaingun has been keeping a day by day log of events taking place during the Bethlehem PA filming and has even given us access to his personal Photo Bucket Account complete with new pics and video's.

Stay tuned for more updates as filming continues.

did youtube make a deal with paramount / dreamworks to not allow any content related to the film shoot?

Cuz every time I see something related to it, it gets taken down so quickly

the only twins I know are Sideswipe and Sunstreaker. the ice cream truck is for comedy relief we presume and later scan two new alt-modes. the yellow top half of the ice cream truck is Sunstreaker, and the pink-red bottom half of the the ice cream truck is Sideswipe.

what if this is an Autobot and its Blaster? He had two twin cassette robots called Rewind(Black) and Eject(Blue) these two fought Frenzy and Rummble all the time. Rewind and Eject could be the two twin robots. What do you guys think?
