now if you want I can derail this thread and tell you why with many points facts articles and much more on the faslehood of that idea..or just go on the point of this.. The idea of "supporting" foreign companies building products here is one reason why along with a whole list of why's this country is in the shape it is in. If you want to support and help this economy you buy products that were made by companies that are HQ'd right here in the U.S.. You do not realize thie impact that "buying foreign cars made in the U.S." hurts our economy more than it helps.
In short if we had a strong U.S. based manufacturing base built by american companies..you would not be paying $4.00 for gas right now. And that is a fact..

again I could go into detail but really derailing this thread is not what I came in here to do...but I needed to say my piece about this..

I don't see how he is derailing the thread since the thread starter later writes that he wants American cars in the movie so they can be of some socio-political economical agenda.

The truth is the American car industry has no else to blame but itself for it's downfall. In the 70s they laughed a the Japanese cars. In the 80s they became so obsessed with providing soccer moms with Minivans that they failed to see the Japanese market pulling the rug under them with better, more gas efficient, and economical cars. They scoffed that Lexus, Infiniti, and Acura were never going to overtake the market. Then in the 90s they started catering to the "I want a car as big as a tank" crowd and killed any chance of making more fuel-efficient cars.

Now that gas is quickly approaching $5 here in the US and that people are returning their tanks en masse, they start once again making bad quality cars assembled in Mexico and South America. Or do you guys think the majority of "American" cars are still made in the US?

I for one don't mind the a foreign cars in alt mode, like an Italian muscle cars that can *actually* handle corners and look more aesthetically pleasing to the eye. I'm happy I've heard reports that there's an Audi RS8 at the PA set.

In the end, this should be about having cars that make a good business decision and have good looking cars. I don't want cars for the sake of pushing more American made cars (which there hardly aren't any as most of them are made internationally) to the public or little Smart cars to send out a Green message.

I like how you parenthesized the answer to your second arguement. Yeah mass Shifting is stupid, unless ppl write subspace. But we were promised none already and in the first damn movie the biggest and most rediculous example of mass shifting ever.

the song was 80s as hell but if you use 1000% less synthesizer, and get the Jablonsk' to orchestrate it the shit it would sound tight. The Bassline was classic and if it was the basis for the beat of most songs like that fanfare in TF1 it could woik.

first off Frank Welker would be great, classic hugo weaving deep voice for every character gets old quick. Look away from the screen and you cant tell when megatron or starscream is talking. [Hope Cobra Commander has a gravely raspy-ass voice!]

UUUH, they will need something to fly through space, the only one who we've seen with the ability to fly was starscream, so you have to assume all the rest just crash. Then theres the whole, space is HUUUUUGE and cold deal. You need to be a little more specific than "the Matrix." I I'll basically tell you what I think it is, as I understand it The Matrix is the Spark of Primus to which all Transformers spirits [sparks] return when they can no longer maintain robot body life. In all TF before the film it was a place and power, that could probably be tracked down. The film made the Allspark, which seemed to be the inanimate source spark of primus but then it got gone, which means there must be another side [another story] where the spirit of sparks go once destroyed, a non physical place of power. In the show items could access and hold the power of the Primus spark [like The Autobot matrix of leadership,] it is possible the the Allspark is also one of these fragments. But we still need to know what the other side is. There is no matrix of leadership but the plot is set up perfectly for the Decepticon matrix. we cant even really argue this, if Jazz is back they have to prove they have a source that can access the "other side of the matrix." Before they could explain what the relationship is between a spark and the allspark it was destroyed, so again I completley disagree, the matrix is more than nessesary to advance the plot.

What are you a nut? too small? if she is a gaurdian there would be a lot less chance of crushings, and pretenders aside she could blend in in bot mode if you jammed a bedsheet over her or she was quick.

i think it is important that the movie keeps in line w/ the original source. i use this analogy often but i think people will understand.

how can you have xmen w/o wolverine, cyclops and storm? if the sequel has either plainly name slapped the autobots w/ lesser known transformers or made up completely knew ones than it would be like making an xmen movie w/ wolfman, one-eye and Fawanda.

what will ruin the seqeul for me is brand new characters that have never before seen in the transformers mythos. priority in my opinion should be given to the established characters of g1 (cartoon and comics).

you need to have some sense of continuity. i hope orci and kurtzman keeps it that way by writing in characters that many of us grew up and relate transformers with. ...
