No, no debasing, just putting forth the idea that one may not always be right and the other side may not always be wrong, and sometimes nobody has a clue.

I only get excited when people do bad things in the name of any religion. In the name of thy father... It's that whole Twinkie logic -- it's not my fault, the chemicals in the Twinkie made me do it. Take this story for example: http://www.mercurynews.com/crime/ci_9596223 I read elsewhere the man said the toddler had the devil in him... oh, I know who had what in him and it wasn't the toddler. I don't think G-d says, kill anyone. That's man talking straight up. If anyone says otherwise, they're lying. I'm not saying I wouldn't kill someone if they tried to harm those I care for or an innocent, because I guarantee I would do everything in my power to take them out first and it wouldn't give me pause before, during or after. But if something came to me, my mind, saying "I am thy G-d, kill him/her." I'd know for sure I'd gone down the rabbit hole and I'd need to check myself into a padded white room. Madness comes in many forms, but G-d talking to me saying kill I'm thinking no, but it might be the devil -- him I know very well and we do battle often, but he's not winning, not today anyway. There is however this voice in my head that has from time to time said, "Dumbass, what were you thinking?" Now that, that could very well be G-d, but I hope not. (And this is why I get kicked off a jury -- that and the expression on my face. )

PS. But a board game being evil, naw, not even... Man is more evil, you know like Hitler who was more frightening and those like him who can talk others into following them into doing bad things.

Religion aside, an Ouija board movie is a stupid idea.

Man you're a tough sell -- are you a studio exec? You're not even getting a pitch, just that they are going to make a movie based on the game and that's about as wide open as anything gets. And while it has a history, I'm thinking the board game is just going to be a tool for the story line to develop the characters and plot e.g., "the fictional romantic tale of a rich girl and poor boy who meet on the ill-fated voyage of the 'unsinkable' ship." That it's called "Ouiji" or "Iron Man" or even "Batman" doesn't mean it is all about one narrow minded thing. People go to see it because they want to see the set up, the problems, the characters, the complications, the antagonist trying to defeat the hero, the hero "wiping out" and then the resolution. It's simple, but it's not just about a game or a toy.

Yea, I'm a tough sell and a harsh critic. Don't need a pitch to know its a stupid idea, but that doesn't mean it wont be a good movie.

I totally agree man. I just get mad when people paint someone who even hints at the existence of A God, as a moron, when evolution isn't the brightest sounding idea if you really take a look at it.. People are very condescending, and it gets on my nerves. I can put up with it to a point, but then I have to stand firmly on what I believe and let the other person believe what they choose. I am not about shoving my religion down someone's throat, but that doesn't mean I will hide who I am either.

I think the Ouija board movie idea has been used before. I don't remember where, but I swear it has. Either way, those things freak me out and I'm not a fan of scary movies.

    Default Ouijiu sounds interesting.

Could be interesting to see a new movie based on the dark haunted game! Bay and company are producing with Pierre Morel directing, it's a damn shame about Pierre because he left the new "Dune" movie for this as i thought he was perfect for the new 4-part epic based on Frank Herbert's novel.

    You mean "Ouija".

And Morel is still negotiating. He presented his take on the project and that's it...it's up to Universal now.

It kills me how people are so scared of this game. I try to get my friends to play all the time but they're all punks. It's only a board game.

I know but if you play it near a cemetery, it's no good.

Now Pierre Morrell has left this to do Battleship, why? i want him to do Dune because i adore the novels and the 2 film attempts, he could have been perfect.

Maybe Pierre should do Dune again than just wasting time with Battleship, i want that movie to happen because i love those books since i was 12 and i'm glad McG is on board for Ouiji.

Thumbs up Re: Ouijiu sounds interesting.

"Ouija" getting a boost from Simon Kinberg - http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/movi...k-kinberg.html

Great writer (at least in my view), so it's nice to know that he's the one polishing the script.

Looks like Universal has dropped the project.
The studio is very cautions in terms of budget. First they dropped At the Mountains of Madness, then The Dark Tower and now this.
Now McG and Michael will have to find another studio. According to /Film Paramount have already passed too.

When two projects, with the names Bay and Cameron on them, are dropped, you know things are tough for Universal.

But unlike other people, I don't really blame them - with the exception of the "Fast and the Furious" franchise, they're not really known for their huge blockbusters, and after so many expensive flops over the last two years, they're clearly tightening things up (rightfully so, in my view). If next year's "Batlleship" is a hit, I'm sure they'll be more open to other non-sequel big budget projects.

If not, they'll stick to "Fast and the Furious 6", 7, 8 and so on...
