Dinobots in Bay's transformers just dont Fit.
I never understood how an advanced life form takes on the look of a Dinosaur and They become less intellegent.....

The dinobots were created on earth. They weren't protoforms that took on the look of dinosaurs. They were born that way! They had primitive minds because of the lack of tech and resources on earth to give them normal intelligence.

The Skorponok battle sequence was awesome but they never bothered to explain anything about it nor did he even transform

I liked Warwithins take on Grimlock. He was intelligent, but just had a speech impediment, probably caused by the vicious battles he has been involved in.

He didnt have to be a dinosaur either to kick ass. He was more brutal in that comic than the cartoon, and he just had a very big cybertronian alt mode. For the movie they would probably need to find a big intimidating vicious alt mode for him.

Me personally the live action movie should have memorable characters who helped shape Transformers the cartoon series or the animated movie. Which is why I would have Grimlock minus the other Dinobots since they were not memorable.

Grimlock is a character that HAS to be in one of the live action movie, for the character dynamics he brings to the table. He will challenge Prime, if he thinks Prime is showing weakness. He is also very physical and abrupt, and probably the most vicious of the Autobots in battle.

On the other hand it can be argued, if they can have a giant Skorpion in a transformers movie, then they can also have a Giant T-Rex since neither is more far fetched than the other.

um.. skorponok doesn't have a bot mode.. at least not to my understanding, he's part of the MH 53, so technically the scorpion mode is his bot mode and being part of the MH 53 is his alt mode.

A lot easier than you think.

Millions of years ago Cybertron lost the All Spark.
TransFormers were dispatched across all corners of the galaxy in search of it.

The TransFormers landed and being "Robots In Disguise" scanned the current period objects, vehicles or forms ie: Dinosaurs.

Cold places a TransFormer in stasis.
The Ice Age could quite feasibly have frozen the TransFormers on earth of the time, that had scanned the current lifeforms (Dinosaurs).

Hence the Dinobots originating on Earth Millions of years before Prime & Co arrived... Grimlock can even be stubborn & refuse to blend in with current day once de-iced and keep his T-Rex mode.

Feasibility - Check.
Dinobots - Check.

that's feasible, but i didn't think anyone was there but Megatron all that time. i thought Bumblebee was the first Autobot there? i may be wrong but that's what i heard. and in the end of the movie, Prime sends that message out to, well, space. he'd know if they were there because he'd have sent them, theoretically. i dunno. there just seems to be holes.

Well,they could take some normal animals-shape like Leobreaker in Transformers Cybertron.
Now that would be very "in disguise" to see a walking dinosaur on the streets...:deadhorse1:
