    Default Good Evening (Hitchcock voice)

Who here enjoys the likes of Alfred Hitchcock?

What's your favorite movie, or even episode of the old Alfred Hitchcock presents?

I kind of like Strangers on a Train and Vertigo.

Psycho. Sorry, a Classic. Used his same crew from the TV show and if I'm not mistaken did it on a little more than the TV budget.

There are several others I cannot remember very well. He was so good at doing things like the continuous take that was hailed as brilliant in Atonement. Hitchcock wanted to perfect it, sadly the fils he did it with weren't the greatest.

The Birds, Rear Window (modern remake=Disturbia)...and a whole lot more.

Let me just say...I went through a dark phase of my life and my movies revolved around Hitchcock and John Carpenter films.

I love. François Roland Truffaut's Le cinéma selon Alfred Hitchcock was my school days favorite book.
I wonder which to choose, though...

    Films
    Vertigo
    Rear window
    Dial M for murder
    Rebecca
    Marnie

    An episode from Hitchcock Presents
    Breakdown

That's so weird that you say that, because I had a similar period with both filmmakers.

As for the best Hitchcock, I think I can't choose between Rear Window and Vertigo and then I remember The 39 Steps... and then Strangers on a Train.. and then I'm really stuck! I can tell you that I flatly dislike The Birds and don't care for Marnie, not because it's bad, but because it is SO DISTURBING!

The Man Who Knew Too Much (1956 -- the remake!)

Mr. & Mrs. Smith (his only comedy)

Psycho and North By Northwest are probably my favourites. Haven't seen enough of his work though, I would like to see Marnie (him and Sean Connery sounds like an interesting combination) and Frenzy.
