    Exclamation IMAX Screening Problems.

I've seen Transformers six times now.
    Wow, I'm a dork.

I wanted to break down my personal IMAX viewing.

    The Good:
Sound was great! You could really hear the SFX and the score so much better and it made for a better impact.

Screen size really helps. There were things I didn't notice before and it was good to see on such a large screen.

    The Bad:
Clearly noticeable black spots on the screen. Some moved during the show, others did not.

Sometimes it was out of focus, or "soft focus".

The screen was brightest at the top center of the screen. Using the white end titles as a reference point they got clear and pure white at the center and top of the frame while they faded to a less brilliant white in an oval shape pattern towards the bottom and edges of the shot.

    I saw it at:
Santikos Palladium IMAX• San Antonio, TX

Thought Bay would like to know.

You too? I noticed that. It was bugging the crap out of me, although I didn't notice any issues as far as the focus was concerned.

Me, I saw it at the Brenden Imax Theater in The Palms (Las Vegas)

That's odd though. Must've happened during reformat or something like that.

I noticed a somewhat large black blob at the top center of my Imax film that showed up from time to time but it was not in the way of the main viewing area of the film so after that I just ignored it.

I enjoyed my Imax experience a lot

You saw it at Brenden in the Palms? I've been there too. Ya, there were black spots on the screen during some scenes.

Yep. A friend and I went there the night it premired. What really impresses me is the sound. It's simply remarkable. Every time I go to a screening at Imax it completely blows me away.

I really wish we had a theater closer to Henderson though. Ah, well. It was worth it.
