    Default I love this lead....

    not to mention headline.

I critique other people's writings, and I admit, I'm not even creative enough to come up with THIS lead:

"Looks like Elvis Presley's daughter Lisa Marie, now 40, has had a few too many of those peanut-butter and deep-fried banana sandwiches her father famously enjoyed."

    http://www.nydailynews.com/gossip/20...a_bigger_.html

    *giggle fit ensues*

But on the one hand, I think the reporter is off base a little. Lisa Marie looks to be a bit pregnant. Notice her face hasn't changed any.

Just from what I see anyways.

    I'm a dog chasing cars. I don't know what I'd do if I caught one. I don't have plans. I just do things. I'm not a schemer.

    She has 4 chins, I doubt she's pregnant......kinday risky for a 40 year old

Well, her age isn't an issue so much as her overall health. The Governor of Alaska is knocked up with her fifth child (and she's 44) and she looks amazing. Presley looks like she's in really, really bad shape.

Interesting how you phrased that with 'knocked up'.

I was being casual. I didn't mean any harm. After five kids, surely, one can be casual about it!! I can barely afford myself!

    LOL

I gotcha. I thought that phrasing was just funny.

Yes, its not uncommon to see women over 40 get pregnant...hell there are some 60 year olds doing it. However....doctor's around here always caution women over 35 about having kids

....and then there's the 12 year old in my stepdaughter's class who's had 2 kids already

parents are taking care of the babies so that she can still have an education.........smart move, because you can't get a decent job anymore without education.

Laws have been changed......no rape charges laid, because it's all about consent now.

The girl has moved to a different school because of harrasment issues, and other things. Not a good way for a kid to grow up. I hope the best for her, and pray she doesn't do it again

Oh man, must be different in Canada.

Here, consent or not, she's a minor (with two kids) and rape charges would be heavily looked into.

That's the way it used to be. We looked it up ourselves, and were shocked to find out about the amendments. Our government is full of sissy's.

Apparently there was a huge investigation. I can just imagine how scared a 12 year old would be at admitting to being raped

....the first pregnancy was most likely pure ignorance.........I don't know what to say about the second....maybe Sheer stupidity!!!

Actually, as far as I know and this

    http://laws.justice.gc.ca/en/C-46/section-150.1.html

states, this would be looked into as sexual assault in Canada as well, consent or not.

There ARE exceptions whose foundation is consent, but this only applies to ages 12 and up. Did she get twins less than three months before her 13th birthday?

Edit: Now that I see your post, obviously not. So the only way I see that the father of at least the first child has not been charged, is if she didn't name him.

That's basically what I said. No fool in their right mind would accept consent without heavy interrogation. I apologize if there was any confusion. The old law was statutory rape no matter what. Consent had no bearing. He would still have been charged. ....She did not have twins

It is my understanding that the girl was 12 when she had her first baby. The specifics are hard to come by. A lot of the info is just gossip from other parents.........some of them just ridiculous (the parents )

In some cultures, this would be accepted, and the norm. But the lifestyles/ popculture here in Canada are similar to The United States............for the most part, unacceptable

Like I said before, the parents did the right thing to put the child back in school. She would miss out on so much in life.
