Dammit. Yao Ming is out for the season. Just when the Rockets were looking like a squad with a 12 game winning streak.

Not saying they were tops in the West or anything, but now they are certainly not gonna be able to keep up. Especially with Shaq back in the West, not to mention having to go with a smaller line up.

I love pro and college ball. (Heavy bias for the hometown teams, no matter how lousy at times)

pheonix is done man give me a break. shaq crippled them. he is not going to get in shape or stay in shape its over for them. tough luck though it might have been houstons year to be honest. well until they meet up with boston.

@Beej: unfortunately it's a little tougher to fill in such a big gap (not just in points scored) at the center position than it would be a smaller one. That's a big piece of the puzzle that goes missing if you don't have a solid backup. (which we don't)

@great: Houston wasn't Finals caliber this year. But before the injury they were at least playoff contenders. Now it'll will be hard pressed to even make it to the first round. (glass half empty)

I hate Shaq with a passion, have since the Rockets swept his Orlando Magic 12 years ago. But you can't deny his presence in the paint, especially with a smaller team.

I remember all the shit Shaq got here in Orlando when he left. I remember people claiming shit like "all these kids look up to him and then he just leaves" blah blah blah. It was stupid. As if there aren't children every year. Shaq was HUGE when I was a kid though here in Orlando. Everybody LOVED the hell out of the Magic during those times. Not so much anymore haha
