Whats even funnier is that that concept art was posted here (on the old boards) by the original artist over a year ago. I've been saying this forever, it's pretty sad how some people completely hinge on what little Bay says. Then proceed to take it and run with it.

    Mock conversation as follows.

TF fan ignorant question: "Is this real Mike?"

    Bay: "No"

TF Websites: *Breaking News* Bay comments on his site, says "No", could this mean "Yes"?

We're talking Walter Cronkite-caliber stuff here....

Ya, some people like to make a big deal out of nothing. There's a bunch of "Breaking news" "He/She told.." "He/She admitted.." thing without any ground.

My favorite bit of trivia about Michael Bay and what he does for fun is that he likes to trim and cut down trees. Largely, because of the instantaneous visual I got when I read that!

    Okay, why no dinobots?

Because they won't work with a live action film.... They can't quite disguise themselves.

Besides, they were kind of pointless, I thought anyways.

Great. I've been called stupid twice in one day.

    My IQ is falling.

And here I thought you people liked me. You know, actually liked me.

    Some Constructive Criticism

Hi. I sincerely doubt you'll respond to this, but whatever. Anyway, as I'm sure you're aware, there are a great deal of people who aren't exactly a fan of yours. And, I guess you could say that I'm one of those people. However, rather than simply going "you suck!" like some no-life, or go "your films have no artistic merit!" like some stuck-up film elitist, I'd like to criticize you constructively, or at least try to.

Fist off, I'm well aware you're an action director, first and foremost; and that you don't make "intellectual" movies. But just because you don't make 'smart' movies doesn't mean you should make stone dumb ones. I mean, honestly. I know you're not responsible for screenwriting (obviously), but could you give your films plots that dig *a little* deeper? Or at least direct/produce scripts that are? I mean, seriously. Some of the dialog/plot points in Transformers was downright stupid.

Which brings me to my second point: could you research your films just *a tad* bit better? Like "Downtown London" in Pearl Harbor? Or any of the other 60 billion historical inaccuracies/misrepresentations/fallacies in that film? Honestly.

I'm not going to lie, I think you're extremely talented. Sure, your edit-heavy style of filmmaking isn't exactly my cup of tea (I'm more a disciple of shot composition), but I'd like to think I'm mature enough to look past that, and offer *constructive* criticism. Again, I sincerely doubt you'll respond or even look at this, but if you could, it would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

Should be a rule that in order to put any sort of criticism you must first submit your qualifications/pedigree to validate the analysis (is it legit or slop... although we usually can tell anyway). Since there isn't such a rule, I submit Mr./Ms. Wanderville's post to Ury's splendid thread.

    TF Trivia
Just wondering if the where any toughts behind calling sams grandfather Witwicky Amundsen, the only time in the movie you see it is when Frenzy is hacking AFO.

is it a link to one of Norways greatest heroes, the explorer Roald Amundsen?

Umm....wasn't Sam's great-grandfather (great-great grandfather, grandfather, all that was mentioned in the film) Captain Archibald Witwicky?

I'm just sitting here, watching it (yes, it's on Cinemax, but muted because I'm about to catch up on Weeds, God bless Showtime) and just thought about that.

Or is this another editing error...???:wtf

    I iz confuzzled.
