    Exclusive: LaBeouf Talks Transformers 2
    It's bigger, better, faster, stronger

Michael Bay said recently that he’d written an outline of the story for Transformers 2 and it seems that his leading man, Shia LaBeouf has been shown that story already. We caught up with the Transformers and Indiana Jones star earlier this week and he told us about what to expect.

“I know of a few things I have to work on for the next one,” said LaBeouf. “I’ve seen pre-vizes of the action scenes and I just saw Michael yesterday. It’s going to be bad-ass. We’re not making another one unless it is, and Mike is definitely not resting on his laurels — he’s doing insane shit again. And the pre-vizes that I’ve seen… it’s just massive. If the first one was any indicator of how massive massive can be, this is going to blow that out of the water. It’s insane. Mike’s mind was just kind of made for this — it’s amazing. There’s going to be a lot more characterisation with the robots, which I’m excited about. I was a fan of Transformers before the movie came out. And there’s going to be a lot of action…That goes unsaid, I guess”.

With the writers’ strike now thankfully over, Ehren Kruger, Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman can start getting on with the script. They’d better get a move on, since the film is set to start shooting in less than four months for a June 26, 2009 release.

This early in the game, LaBeouf wouldn’t be drawn on exactly what scenes he’s preparing for, despite our threats to kick him in the shins and moans of “Awwww, you’re mean”. But he would say, “There’s gonna be new robots on both sides. I can say that the war isn’t over… It’s hard to do interviews when you’re not allowed to talk about the movies. It’s like I give two or three things away and then I get reprimanded for it. It’s never fun to get reprimanded by these people”.

We’ll try the shin kicking thing again to get more details.

Dammit just give us a little something. Concepts art, pre viz robot pics, SOMETHING! It has been stated numerous times that they have the line up of robots so i hope to at some point see something related to the second movie.

haha just about to post this....I have no doubt Michael will up the anty (sp?) and will do it amazingly. I just hope he listened to the fans of the actual movie. In terms of the shakiness of the camera and the clarity of the fight scenes.

How great is it to be Shia right now---HUGE movie on '07-- more than likely a bigger movie in '08--then '09 brings another monster-- he'll never get an indie film after this!!!
    Ironhide kills Barricade!!!

Ya I second that. I loved the first movie but the shakiness and clarity of the fights was hard at times to tell what was going on and I really would like to see the fights slowed down just a bit so we can see the kicks and punches being landed. The BB/Barricade fight was great but to fast. It was hard to see the punches and kicks connect.

Cool stuff, the part that really caught my eye aside from the obvious new robots is their characterisation.

The more time with the robots the better

Thats the design to blame. Not him. The silhouettes are too similar when grouped together like that especially in a night scene.

I thought the Optimus/bonecrusher fight was pretty great within itself.

You could see the eyeball explode out of Bonecrusher's face....just durn.
    I'm a dog chasing cars. I don't know what I'd do if I caught one. I don't have plans. I just do things. I'm not a schemer.

I use a knife because guns are too quick. Otherwise, you can't savor all the emotions. You know who people are in their last moments.

I believe whatever doesn't kill you simply makes you... stranger.

No... Im not blaming Bay, just saying he should get after the design/cgi guys and make sure the fight scenes are clear and people can tell whats going on. The BB/Barricade fight was good but they fought like they were both on speed. Slow it down a bit, thats all.

This fight was great in the fact that you could tell what was going on. I did feel that the fight was a little short but it wasnt like in fast farward like the BB/Barricade fight.
