Alright, now whether we like Bumblebee mute or not is not the point of this thread - the point is that Bumblebee is staying with Sam now and he has a different form.

So, what I am wondering is how Sam is going to explain to his parents that his $4000 smoking, beat-up Camaro is gone and he now has a schmick new ride. What does Sam say to his parents after the epic battle is over and he cruises home in the fantastic Bumblebee? Or do his parents know that
Sam's ride is more than meets the eye?

The last scene with Sam's parents talking to the media was very confusing. The whole time Mum was talking, Dad had a strange sceptical look (or spaced out/bored outta his mind??) and I wondered if they knew of the Autobots too? This has got me wondering since I saw Transformers and now with talk of another movie, I was wondering if anyone had any ideas of how this might pan out?

Sam will be 18 soon so who knows exactly when in the future the next movie will take place but it should not be 5 years later maybe a year or two at most so he most likely will have moved out of his parents house.

As far as the car goes remember that they can change shape at will and are not locked into a single form like the G1 vehicles or any other version for that matter so he can drive around in the 1977 camaro version or hide the 2008 version in a garage or something.

Also, too many people have seen them now, blasting the base in Qatar, the transform and fight scene on the highway and the city of course and they can't be dismissed away like a UFO report because of the physical damage all over the place and of course the government knows about them too so it would be better to let people know completely at some point rather than trying to sneak around all the time except for camoflage against the enemy.

you know what? to be completely honest I have a feeling that they might not explain about the mess that happened in downtown. Probably just mention that the Autobots are in hiding and the whole downtown thing either never gets mentioned or there were witnesses being interviewed on TV but thats it.

As for Bumblebee, I also wouldn't be surprised if they decide to go through the easy route and just write it so that Sam just tells his dad that he won some bet OR some crazy car classic collector wanted his 1974 camaro and traded it in for a new one.

I would say that it is pretty well known at this point all over the world about the TF. And yes, his parents know after they were released from imprisonment. For the sequal, expect to see some TF merchandise in the movie and yeah, it has leaked out world wide by this point, but no worries, by TF 2, BB will look different as all the others will as well. IMHO

Now it woulda been sweet if we saw OP as the original OP, then change into the new OP just before the end battle started.

P.S. What the hell happened to that kick ass soda machine at the end???? Will he still be around??? (prob. not)

When I read this I immediately thought of Lampoon's Vegas Vacation (the son won different cars at a casino) and thought of Sam telling his father he won Bumblebee along similar lines

And I hadn't thought of Bumblebee changing form back to the old Camaro again as Galvatron posted, could happen (old Bumblebee was sold on ebay though) but maybe all the Autobots will change form again to remain hidden...? I do love how Optimus looks, flames and all, so I hope they don't change.

That would open a whole new line of toys and car sponsorship deals mwhahah but the release date of TF2 in 2009/ish will be the approximate release of the Camaro as well, so Bumblebee could remain as a Camaro... getting off topic. Thanks anyways guys, keep any more ideas coming.

I think maybe SAM could say he traded his beater in for a new camaro.Tell mom and pop it was a first time buyers incentive with 1.9% APR financing.....Just kidding.........but seriously... say.. after the introduction of sector 7.He was given in trade the new camaro because of the car being a "first" car to Sam.He can say he didn't want to let it go because of its value to him,and because of its 'National Security' issue, had to be kept by the Government as evidence to another criminal case in which Sam accidentally got mixed up in when he purchased the car from Big Bobby B!!! Like the country ,without the runs... In trade for the governments' inconvenience to sam and his family, Sam demanded a 'new camaro'.Which when mis-interpereted could actually mean a new Camaro car!!! What father wouldn't like to see something happen like this to their son?Sector 7 didn't exsist as far as parents were concerned anyways.Have the government replace the damaged plants at home for Sam's mom and dad as well.

I really like this idea Barricade, 'the Government cover-up' line, nice. Also makes an 'official' explaination for friends (Miles - spelling..?), if Sam lets that boy in Bumblebee again he better keep his damn feet of his dash!!! I so would have ripped into him for that when they were leaving the lake/park/thingy.
