who was the giant flying robot from G1?

i'm trying to remember a name of an autobot from the G1 series. this gigantic robot transforms into a gigantic cybertronian jet. he's so huge that many transformers can fit inside him when he transforms into the cybertronian jet. this autobot was dug out from alaska i think. he used to be a decepticon but when the autobots dug him out of the ice, they convinced him that he should be working for them. and he became an autobot. does anyone remember who that was?

His name is SkyFire or JetFire in toy version if memory doesn't fail me )

Never liked that guy though An Autobot becoming a Decepticon is a much more interesting idea in my opinion. They should have tried that.
