    God, this sounds so amazing!!!

Just one question, will we ever have a 2D bluray with the IMAX footage in it's size? I don't have a 3DTV so I won't be able to see it. ROTF had it's edition later, hoping AOE gets the same someday, I really want to see it in that version

I had the same question. But i doubt there will be 2D blu ray imax because the movie was shot in 3d imax cameras unlike ROTF which was 2D imax cameras. I'm sure there is some conversion process if they want to release 2d blu ray imax version for AOE which is probably not worth it for them as there is probably not enough demand for it unfortunately. I got my ROTF imax version on 1st day so im not sure why you are saying it came out later. But anyways, i wouldnt put my hope in it. Im still gonna get the 3d version of AOE in case i get 3dtv in future .

Then all 3D films, filmed with 3D cameras, shouldn't be on 2D Blu-ray.
I know why they made it like this, I did see AOE in IMAX3D and it was beautiful!! But 3D tech for home is still way too expensive for me, and I feel we'd see the details of the effects much better in 2D.

I do hope someday, we'll see an edition for it.

So, another release without commentary? ....Great.....

At least it'll be nice to see it in 3D since I caught the 2D version in the theater.

lol i'm saying that there is probably not a lot of demand for 2D Imax version hence they did not include it with the 2D blu ray of AOE. It would have been cheaper to do 2D Imax version during this release rather than doing it separately and then releasing it later.

All I'm saying is, why not place the IMAX in the 2D, like The Dark Knight and Dark Knight Rises Blu-rays, I think even the second Hunger Games film did it. Oh well, will miss the IMAX resolution in 2D.

On other news, I just saw in the Blu-ray Facebook of Mexico, that the film will come out here in all it's combos, this September 16th. Which is fairly odd, I don't remember any home release coming here before than it's release in the US. Will post if this happens and if I get the steelbox or Grimlock statue edition, which I'm dyng for

Yeah, his third in a row without one . I supposed the behind the scenes stuff makes up for it.

“Transformers: Age of Extinction” will be the first Blu-ray title with a Dolby Atmos soundtrack."

    HOLY PRIMUS!!

So, the Atmos is coming to more blu-rays in the future, amazing. There are no Atmos theaters in my country yet, but they are slowly appearing.
    This is just so good!

Considering how big it was in China, and how the audience loved it, it wouldn't be a surprise. Besides, I've bought blurays in Mexico with chinese and even korean subtitles

I'm not really a physical media user anymore, now that iTunes has most releases and I see AOE is available today , so I'll buy it from iTunes.

I got the iTunes DL and really enjoyed the iTunes extras, but am really looking forward to the Blu-Ray release for the Detroit-based content (Shadow Protocol Activated section)!

Question to Mr. Bay or Nelson,

Is the Imax footage found on the 3D Blu Ray 1.78:1? I've been following a discussion on the bluray.com forums in reference to the Age of Extinction 3D release. Someone posted screencaps claiming to be from the "left eye stream." Since that post, there has been talk about the variable aspect ratio. Bluray.com claims it will alternate between 2.40:1 & 1.78:1. However the shots posted are showing black bars on the top and bottom. They're claiming the Imax footage will have different aspect ratios. One theory is that the Red dragon footage is kept in a 2.10:1 aspect ratio. I have included a screencap that depicts an aerial shot of Hong Kong. Here a bluray.com member is quoted to saying And that particular shot of Hong Kong is the only one with the black bar on top being bigger substantially. Really stands out here. I guess they really rushed this for the mid-September release - would've made for a much better experience if the framing was more consistent." I know Michael puts a lot of time and effort into all aspects of the film process. Whether it'd be pre-production, filming, post-production or even putting together the best audio video home presentation. I have included a link to the discussion on the bluray.com forums.

Anyone seen the "Spark of Design" special feature? Is there any nice robot renders in it? Thanks.
