Liked the movie, but I had a few issues:

-floating lego transformations. I know it was cheaper to do it that way, but it comes across as lazy

-prime flying off world. Does he even know where he is going? There was a space ship there he couldhave used.

This didnt bother me but i thought was weird

-prime's new ability to self heal quickly (awesome ability, he is optimus after all)

And are Galvatron's eyes really red or yellow?

In the movie I find them red as hell.

I understand your reasoning. But calling it Cybertonium would make more sense because a) the humans who found it don't know the "Creators" used it until nearly the end of the film; b) it would be a great G1 reference for Transformers geeks like myself (of which there are many who saw and are seeing this movie).

Mr Bay, youve outdone yourself once again!
I watched it last night, got a little bit of sleep, and now Im here at work with a little bit of sleep. Still letting everything sink in.
Went in for the 9pm show, sat in the theatre till 10:00 before it started. They said a harddrive corrupted, so it had to be downloaded again.
But they did give us free imax passes.
Cant say a whole lot right now as I just woke up lol. But, intense action, car chases(my fav part),
so much happening!! I also think I saw Ed Welburn in there. GM vice pres of design.
    The imax was AMAZING!!!!!!
Ill post more later, gotta get to work.

More interesting stuff I enjoyed or found interesting:

-- Hound. Loved this version and no one else could have voiced him but John Goodman. I like how he basically replaced Ironhide as the hothead and weapons specialist

-- Drift as a triple changer. Yes!!!

-- when Lockdown drops a bomb on the humans, and Cade's friend/employee is caught in it, is that a transformium bomb? There is no reason he should still be standing there like Dr. Doom in Fantastic Four

-- loved how Lockdown is unaligned. That's one thing I appreciate about the comics that wasn't in the G1 cartoon. There are Cybertronians who didn't choose a side.

-- Kelsey Grammer is great as a bad guy.

-- this film successfully combined plot line from G1, the comic, Transformers Animated, and Transformers Prime. Props to Ehren Kruger and Bay.

Yeah, I'm still convinced it was intended to be a TF but for whatever reason, Bay cut it

GM also confirmed it was going to be a TF. And Shane's remark when driving it about how he doesn't know how he's driving this good, really eludes to it driving itself but Shane thought he was driving. I wish Bay would come on and comment about why he decided to not make it a TF. And I really though it would have made the movie even more bad ass if it was a TF and some of the government vehicles were some of lockdowns henchmen in vehicle form and the Sonic could have fought a few of them before being captured and taken by lockdown.

here is the quote from the GM article that was released.

Here is just a couple sentences word for word.

"Bumblebee is an autobot and the Autobots are the good guys," Welburn said. Other Autobots include a corvette stingray and a Chevy sonic. "And because the transformers are global films, we got to use more of our global products like the sonic.

    @ Darkness
Maybe it's still really a TF as it was intended. It just didn't reveal itself to Shane and transform in the movie. Maybe we'll learn something more about it in the prequel comic books and get to see his robot alt mode!

I also noticed that during the chase scene in the movie, as one of the off-road fighters rammed hard into the Sonic, it didn't really incur any damage to the bodywork. I mean that's not normal is it? Everything point to it being a TF.

Yeah there is no doubt in my mind it was meant to be a TF or was and just never revealed itself.

Saw it in IMAX today.Freaking Awesome.Period.
The only thing that I thing disappointing is the lack of Background Score at crucial scenes.
This the victory Michael Bay had promised us many years ago !!!

There was also a scene cut from the sword scene that I wish Bay would have left in. Seen a early test screening and there was a scene there where OP went into a VR world much like how Sam met the Primes in ROTF. And OP met the past Knights who owned the Knight Ship. They bestowed on to him the Silver Knight armor which turned him silver for a few seconds and the sword and basically knighted him.

Love how the Donobots are also part of the Knight Order too
That explains it, but we didn't get that part here, it was cutted. Also.. there was no "Autobots roll out" line here

    Everything about the film works.

The things that I did not like was the lego transformations, and the fact Grimlock never talked once...give us a line.. "Me Grimlock, Me King" They captured his and Optimus relationship very well an ounce of dialog would have been perfect.

It's nice to see that his traditional voice would work just fine.

Galvatron, and Frank Welker, the most welcome sound ever to hear that voice on that character.

But the Lego transformations...eh they could be ditched.

By far the most rewarding to watch of the films, so much fun going again tomorrow.

Saw it last night in IMAX 3D. Movie was excellent. Didn't feel like 2 hours and 45 minutes, but more like the length of the first film.

    Things I loved:
*The characterization of the Autobots, Lockdown and Galvatron. In this movie alone Hound had more lines and character than all the other Autobots from the first movie put together minus Prime and Bee. At least it seemed like it. Even Drift and Crosshairs were developed well, moreso than Sideswipe was in 2 films.

    *The more sci-fi feel.
*Lockdown, he was truly an awesome character and I so wanted him to live.
*The movie didn't lag. The only true slow moments were in the beginning and that was to build up the characters. *The Dinobot stampede down the street and the way they worked to kill the Cons.

I'm not a big fan of the "lego" transformations either, but it's not a big deal.

Also the name Transformium was coined by one of Tucci's scientists and not the Transformers.

I need to see this again very soon, to be able to catch everything I didn't the first time.
    Driller-bot is thirsty.

I still can't get over how badass Lockdown was!! And the way he was filmed (as the Lambo) was just expertly executed. Brings out the best in the car! That is why Bay IS the car expert when it comes to these things! The Lambo scenes in TF4 were even miles better than the official Lambo Aventador commercials!!

And his robot scenes were just as epic! Then he goes like "Attinger of earth!" Oh my god man!!

    Lockdown is the new Barricade!!

Once again so that there are no doubts about it, I fucking loved the movie and want to see it again, but...

there were a lot of transformations where this happens:

    He's begining to transform, cooooooool...
WTF... camera changed to another bot...
    Crap... he's transformed already
well... at least he looks really cool.

Yes, the voice actors were a YES YES YES on all of them. And yes, I also wished that Frank Welker had done megatron since day one, but better late then ever

    Any easter eggs anyone noticed?

    - I can only remember the prime G1 Tranformation style from robot to trunk

    - Did Crosshairs say "Meetbag" at some point? as a futurama fan that would be awesome. I Think I heard it but i'm not really sure anymore

What Autobots will he rendezvous with in space? My biggest issue is referring to the material as transformium and not Cybertomium. Oh, and I didn't like the Lego transformations and the the "superhuman" bodies either. And the use of super slo mo in every other scene. Loved Galvatron's voice. Sounded very familiar.
It sounded very familiar because Frank Welker was the voice of this Galvatron too.

The seed was borrowed from the Transformers G1 episode - The Key to Vector Sigma - Megatron uses the key to cyberform earth. Attinger is the perfect Shawn Berger because he makes a deal with Lockdown like Berger made with the Decepticons.

Well I guess I'll be the first one. The story was all over the place. Many things didn't make any sense. As most of you I hated the lego transformations. Actually there were very few transformations in the movie. I can't even remember if Hound, Crosshairs and Drift ever transformed. The final battle with the lego transformers was a complete mess. Why did Lockdown's ship stopped sucking stuff. Why the Dinobots defended the bridge? From whom? Where did the Dinobots go after the battle? In the nearest forest to chew some grass? What happened with the soundtrack? I love Imagine Dragons' song but there was nothing else.
I'm not even sure if I'll go to see it again because of the unnecessary long running time. There were just too many things going on. I think this was the weakest of all TF movies. Yes I enjoy ROTF more. Somehow the other movies felt more personal. This one didn't have soul. I'm ready to bet that this is Michael Bay's last TF movie and the decision will be all his. Mark my words. And I think Ehren Krueger need to do something fresh. The story needs to be really simple to work out like the first movie. With every next movie they try to outdo themselves and that's where they fail. Not always bigger and more complicate means better.

You're right about the transformations, but I think they designed them to the point where there's no way they'd go from vehicle to robot and have it make sense. Crosshairs had an overcoat on that flapped in the wind for cryin' out loud. He was probably my favorite one though.

I disagree on the story though. AoE's story was far from perfect, but I think it made a lot more sense, and was much easier to follow than ROTF. The more I watch that movie, the LESS sense it makes.

Saw the movie last night. Really enjoyed it. Lots of good points, but a few bad ones as well...

    Likes...

Good story- From both the human and Robot side of things. Good interaction between the both.
Good characterization- in fact, there was probably more screen time and characterization of the bots (except the Dinobots)in this movie than in the first three put together! All the bots had solid lines and we got to know them fairly well. And Optimus finally shows some true emotion for his fallen comrades. Something he lacked in DOTM when Ironhide was killed.
Lockdown- Best villain ever. By Far. Also my favorite movie bot!
Humans- Played a good role and weren't annoying. Well done!

    Dislikes...

Like many have already pointed out, the lego like transformations. Just not my thing. I like seeing the true transformations from vehicle to bot. Its part of the appeal of Transformers.
    Prime blasting into Space...
It just didn't make sense since he has need some type of flight suite to fly in both ROTF and DOTM.
Chevy Sonic- Like others, i'm convinced this was an autobot at one point, but was written out at a later date to be just Shane's race car. Proven by no driver when it first shows up and his coment on how great his driving has all of a sudden become.

    And my biggest problem...

    Dinobot, Dinobots, Dinobots.....

They felt worthless. Like they were just thrown in for the sake of having them. No story to whom they were. why they were there. Were lead to believe that they were the metal dinosaurs that were found in the very beginning, but it turns out they were completely unrelated. and while i apriaciate they all transformed, non spoke. Not one work. Grimlock could have at least spoke when he challenged prime!
"Me, Grimlock no take orders from no one!!" Or something to that nature.
They just didn't fit in. Not at all really. I mean they were bad ass.. But i feel so much potential was wasted. All that hype... And basically most of there scenes were scene in the previews.

    - You see drift transforming lots of times, into car and into heli, and from car to robot. crosshairs maibe once only. Hound... i also don't remember.

    - The ship stoped sucking because... well... I'm sure there's a limit to how much it can keep inside, and the point was to destroy, and not to keep things inside it... if you ask why it stoped at all, welll.. Optimus destroyed the sucking machine! remember?

    - I think it had the best human storyline of all, Best actors (except bingbing) and best characters.

    - The battle was a little confusing, but overall story made sense. Like in DOTM I need to watch it again to soak it better.

    - Easy to get the "robot" story:

-- Lockdown has a deal with the humans (some), prime for the seed. He's not really our enemy, he's actually not a bad guy, on his own way he's bringing peace to the galaxy.

--- Megatron(galvatron) is the real enemy of earth, he's been playing the humans since the beginning.

---- But... lockdown really wants prime, when it gets to the point where he can't really get help from his human friends, he improvises. But he's not here to conquer.

    - i'm with you on the soundtrack!

    - Dinobots are free, they ran to the jungle, but from there they can go anywhere, it wouldn't be a good idea to run back to the city. maybe they fix the ship (that's in the jungle) and fly away. Or they stick around, it is a beautiful planet where humans have not touched.

They were protecting the bridge from the decepticons (at this point they are now decepticons, they do serve megatron), so that the seed could be taken away. I suppose it was the only way out of the city in that direction.

Like I said in my review, it has flaws, the lego being a really awful one, but it has the best story line, and it's a really smart story, people can't say anymore that you need to shut down the brain to enjoy the movie. You actually need to use it to understand, and that's a good thing.

Lockdown is not really a vilain, he is in fact trying to bring peace to the galaxy, he wanted to nothing to us. I think a lot of people didn't get that Galvatron was the main villain, but he was, even with less screen time.

The dinobots, i think their story is that they were part of that knights order that lockdown and prime talked about. I believe we'll see more of them in the future. They crushed galvatron's army, the main vilain.
