i want to continue it, but I doubt it will be in water colors. water colors take forever.

Everyone says that but the end result is worth it I think. I watched a Discovery show and some lady was painting with wine. She said it took twice as long to dry as watercolor.

Ya, especially in rainy or humid days. But I like the way you tinted.

    To Alexsm:

I'm not sure the extreme dutch angles are working.

Usually when I take a shot using a dutch angle, I also take a straight shot, because I hardly ever like the way the dutch angle looks.

Remember that dutch angles (tilted horizon lines) show psychological uneasiness and/or tension.

still, you have some great shots here. That tension I talked about, really works well for the flower field and the sunset.

It's my first try using dutch angles, more or less a "shot and see what happend" collection. In usual conditions i i would have shot some of them with normal angles.

I would like to see something from you that isn't an artist study.

and by artist study I mean a copy of an artist work, which there is nothing wrong with mind you. In fact they are good. as these are good.

This is scratch board. It is a subtractive medium that you scratch at to reveal areas of white. you can also add black ink to correct mistakes. sorry I don't have the word version of this up, but it sucks, and until I can figure out how to make it not suck, you guys will have to do without.

Your stuff is pretty good, its been a long time since i seen scratch board art. I know it has another name but i can't remember it name either. My art is insperation and all but the pencil sketch were done as a request for a friend. I'm proud because they are the first transformers i ever done, and the very first time I used paint as a medium. So whether or not you consider it artist study or not i don't care. They were done for pleasure of doing and challenging myself to see if i could do it. Here is another one that i think is better than the first ones.

I hope you are not taking the term "artist study" as an insult. There is nothing wrong with mimicking a composition. I'm going to try and post an artist study I did recently. its a little to big for my scanner so there may be a wait.

This thread looks like very active these days.

    A piece of fan art.

A "get a hug" version for friends of mine. (they're Jazz fans)

It took a lot of courage to post such a fangirlish pic into a board in the most stylish director's website.

Don't ever let people tell you not to do fan art (especially this caliber) We have been looking at some concept for animation stuff and those guys do a lot of fan art. the most notable one to me was a cover for a Hellboy/Batman cross over. I think the guy I'm thinking of is Sean Galloway http://cheeks-74.deviantart.com/. AKA Cheeks. check out his stuff, he has got some fan art up. As far as I know, he design the new Spectacular Spider-man characters, although I think the animators butchered his designs... could be a different guy though. It's hard to remember what happened yesterday.... OH YEAH, I got to see the production art of Bluth studios which includes, Titan AE, Secret of Nimm, Rockadudal, and a few others. ... so
