    Default Assassin's Creed!

Variety reports that the planned movie adaptation of Ubisoft's popular video game Assassin's Creed is moving forward with Michael Fassbender attached to star in and co-produce the movie.
Love the games. It's really very ambitious project, I'm glad they got Fassbender. Here is the synopsis of the game if you haven't played it:

The original game involves a bartender named Desmond Miles, captured by a secret organization with ties to the Knight Templar who repeatedly send Miles back in time into the body of his assassin ancestors to retrieve valuable historical artifacts, the first time going back to the Crusades.

Hmmmm, holy shit!! I wonder if he's going to be Desmond, or Altair too, that'd be cool.

    Can't believe this is happening.

I'm SO waiting for this movie cause I just love the games! I can't wait till I get my hands on Assassins Creed 3 on PS3!
Now my only concern is that Ubisoft and Sony ain't gonna work together on this one. Money wise, it would have been better to have Sony on board on this one. I hope their recently launched Ubisoft Motion Pictures division has boat loads of cash, cause making the effects on this movie ain't gonna be cheap if they are gonna make the movie look like the game. I'm also a bit worried about this. "According to the story, they also will save on production costs by using some of the in-house game studios to handle visual effects for the movies". If you are gonna do something, do it right from the beginning. Let ILM do the effects. They're most likely expensive, but they got the skills to make things look very good. The worst mistake Ubisoft can do, is to have the some B effects in the movie like in The Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. The effects on that movie were pretty lame.
The in-house game studios can make cool looking game effects, but it's still a game and you can see that the cities and the people aren't real.
I think they'll get in a bit of trouble making movie effects, specially if this would be the first time for them...
Then I hope Fassbender is Desmond, but then again his part in the games ain't very big. Most of the time you play as Altair or as Ezio Auditore in the last three games. I hope they take an actor from the Middle East to play Altair if they are gonna make the movie just like the game is.
Well, now all we can do is to wait for more news of how the production is moving along.

Wow nice, Fassebender can actually fit the role for Desmond or Altair or Ezio!
