Default Transformers 4 Going into Space? (Article)

Here's an interesting read. Scroll down a bit past all the TF Ride stuff.

Could the new story involve a departure from Earth? “I think so, yeah, a little,” Bay said. “That feels like the way to go, doesn’t it? I want to go alittle off but I don’t want to go too sci-fi. I still want to keep it grounded. That’s what works in these movies, that’s what makes it accessible.”
"My story is of many thousands, and the world will not suffer if it ends too soon."

Why not? Make it a little bit into the future, cast Sam Witwicky as a grown up man and maybe make his son a protagonist. Basically, start off from season 3 of G1. The cost of future Earth design could be compensated with moving some action away into space. Michael Bay created terrific space action in Armageddon. I can see it as a great potential for fresh perspective on the story. Because after Cybertron itself has come to Earth I don't know what else can be more dangerous. Unicron would probably look too similar artistically, the same planet, just a little angrier.

Actually I think Michael's statement proves that there will be outer space scenes not much more than DOTM had.

I think if Unicron was in this 2nd Trilogy. I think he should be handled like in Transformers Prime.

In Prime he isnt a Planet but rather is our Planet Earth we our Parasite's living inside Unicron. He was defeated by Primus & the Original 13 eons ago in the beginning of time.

He ends up where our Earth is rocks and stuff were around Unicron, and over the eons Unicron became our Planet Earth as we know it now.

This was a brilliant move on Prime and I think it would work wonders in a live action movie instead of hime being a huge Planet he would actually be ours.

The Autobots/Decepticons must team up, go to the center of our planet and shut down his core before he awakenes.

Sorry but I disagree. This totally ruined Prime for me. Unicron as an ominous, gigantic floating space body that destroys planets was far better than making Unicron some rock monster, in my opinion!
