Arrow World War Z - “A nightmare from top to bottom”

    Problems, problems, problems.

Basically, the moral of the story is: when you make a big, expensive studio movie call Cameron, Bay, Spielberg, Emmerich or Nolan. They'll get the job done and they'll keep things organized.

Take a look at this great article about the making of "World War Z". So many problems, it's crazy:

I like Pitt (and zombies) so I'm actually looking forward to that movie. Hopefully they'll be able to save it.

I like that big producers are giving first-timers a chance to direct big budget stuff.

Well, and about the movie, I dunno what to think, really.

Now I understand why this movie had budget issues. It's huge! Reminds me of Resident Evil vs. I am Legend.
Finally we get to see Brad Pitt in a more commercial action role.
The music from the trailer is another rip off from the DOTM trailer.

Hated the zombies in I Am Legend.

    Hate these WWZ zombies.

They look like a bunch of rubbery CGI Stretch Armstrongs.

Haven't read the book, but I've been told that this is absolutely NOTHING like the book.

Adaptations are bound to take liberties, but if you're adapting the book, the least you could do is actually adapt the book. All they've done here is take the name and make a generic "movie star saves the world" movie with zombies that are barely even zombies. Having read the book, and loved it, I can say that this is one instance where it's actually important that the zombies are slow, traditional shamblers. A huge theme of the book is that the zombie epidemic only became a global catastrophe because the world's governments reacted incredibly stupidly. The zombies alone weren't much of a threat at first because their numbers, naturally, were small, but it only ballooned into an apocalyptic scenario because our world leaders turned out to be idiots.

By making the zombies a credible threat on their own, from the start, that theme kind of flies out the window, and it's really one of the main points of the book.

And for the record, I Am Legend isn't a zombie movie. It's a vampire movie.
