The Avengers (spoiler free) - very entertaining movie. The talk was a bit too much for me for such type of movie. The humor was great, I doubt there is a person who won't laugh at some of the jokes. I personally thought the score was shallow, I couldn't feel it, which is very important for me. And although the action was great at the final battle I felt more like "been there done that" with all the city destruction and explosions. Still it was good that every hero got his moment of glory.
And if people still don't know - stay after the credits for 2 additional scenes. Actually the 2 scenes are for the US only. We at the international market got only one (at the middle of the credits).

Chronicle - Almost fell asleep halfway through the movie.

The Darkest Hour - Someone came up with a brilliant idea how to save some money from an alien sci-fi movie - of course make the aliens invisible.

Iron Man 2: Weak follow-up to Captain America, the original movie and Incredible Hulk but the action sequences are quite good and Whiplash was cool though, it sets up for the final movie in the Avengers linking films.

Thor: Fun fantasy movie that brings back the days of epic 80s fantasy films like Conan and more, Hopkins gave a terrific performance in this and is the final Avengers linking movie that sets up for the big event.

Now i'm off to the midnight premiere of The Avengers.

Reading your comments, you are very negative towards Avengers.

    You call this negative?

The fact that I'm not praising the movie as most of the people doesn't mean that I'm negative towards it. The only negative things that I said were that the score was pretty ordinary and DOTM's final battle was way better. Oh, and that I liked Battleship more which is not a negative thing actually.

Maybe first I was a little disappointed because I had very high hopes from the early reviews. I thought that the reviews are great because of a special and interesting story, which was not the case. Still the characters the action sequences and the humor were great which is really remarkable for a comic book movie.
I guess it was my mistake. If I want great story I have to wait for the Dark Knight Rises.

P.S. And after all this is just my personal opinion. It doesn't mean that it's right for somebody else.

The Avengers is pretty much a classic. I would literally go right back into the theater and watch again.

It gets 250,000 stars from me.

Thor and Captain America (getting caught up so I go check out Avengers soon): Both fantastic movies, sorry that I hadn't seen them until now. Think I liked Captain America slightly better, only because I liked the WWII period aspect of it more than the Asgard elements of Thor. but overall the Marvel movies are really turning out great and have got me interested in a Universe that I wasn't really that familiar with. I love the cross-over aspects leading up to Avengers (and beyond I'm sure).

    "Killer Klowns From outer Space"

This movie still creeps me out. Especially this scene:

    I really hate clowns.

ooh i love Killer Klowns, one of my fave Sci-fi horror films and i saw that 2 times in theaters when i was a kid.

Watchmen Ultimate Cut: the best cut to the brilliant faithful adaptation of Alan Moore's classic masterpiece of a comic book series, adds animated Black Freighter sequences to make the movie more like the graphic novel and the film is a frame-by-frame adaptation except it got rid of the silly squid ending, brilliant film.

The Black Cauldron: Underrated disney film that is different as it's not a musical but a dark and violent PG rated animated fantasy in the tradition of Princess Mononoke, Heavy Metal, Fire and Ice and Lord of the Rings, i saw it 3 times in theaters when i was 4 and enjoyed it, such a fun film that brings back memories.

The Avengers: Saw it again and it's just that awesome.

Dark Shadows: I was to amazed and entertained by this movie! I really havent enjoyed so much Burton's previous films, but this one was really good. It had some weakness in the storyline and the adaptation, but everything else compensated those mistakes. Acting was so great, one of the best performances of Michelle Pfeiffer, Eva Green is magical as always, Johnny was finally less Jack Sparrow. The whole movie is very specific in a certain style and parody of that style so it might appeare a bit strange if you want to take it seriously. But its a Burton movie... so... Also finally some real vampireness on big screen was needed, and who better to potray a 200 year old vmapire than Johnny Depp

The Vow: Oh I really loved this movie. It has so much heart and soul in it. I really great story about the connection between our decisions and our personality. The assumption if we got a total second chance, would we make the same decisions. I really liked this idea. Also I just love every single on screen minute with Rachel McAdams.

One Day: really good one aswell. One of those full movies which can tell a story very beutifully from the ebginning to the end and back. Just feels good to the eyes and soul.

Old Boy: Now this was just wow! There is something about far-eastern cinema that is mindblowing.

The Battle of Shaker Heights: oh lol, this was some really old movie of Shia's I found in my friend movie collection. He was so baaaad and sooo youuung :lmao But it was really fun to whatch

Curdled: the most boring un-Tarantino-ish Tarantino film ever

The Cabin in the Woods - predictable and tacky but a fun B grade movie

Section 9 - I want those 90 mins of my life back!

New Years Eve - girlfriend made me watch it

Watched District 9 and Black Hawk Down again - both are excellent films!
The only way to predict the future is to invent it.

    Thor
    Captain America

Didn't like them both. I will be watching The Avengers this Saturday though and I know they will be good.

Battleship. Dumb, but entertaining, and (below) an accurate depiction of the pitch for the movie:

    "Dark Shadows"

Can't believe how much I liked that movie. Watching the trailers I expected it to be a goofy comedy with a lot of weird Johnny Depp-style make-up and nothing more. Well, I was clearly wrong and in this case I'm happy to be wrong. It was a great gothic tale with a lot of creepy moments and nice twists. It exceeded my expectations and I'll definitely see it again.

Highly recommended for Tim Burton fans.

Haven't seen it yet, but according to a buddy of mine* (who's actually Horror Sober on here), the marketing campaign was horribly misleading and underwhelming. Something that a bunch of haters/complainers simply couldn't grasp because they wanted to hate for the sake of hating.

But yeah, I might see it sometime this week. It's good to see a real vampire on film in 2012.

*And I mean he actually went and looked up his sources on the internets, and is not some random dude claiming to have connections to the production.

    Dick Tracy:
Who remembers this cool comic book movie? i remembered seeing it 4 times in theaters at 8 and loved it and having merchandise, such a fun movie that pre-dates Sin City.

The Dictator - The movie was funny but nothing too surprising. To be honest, it's not worth watching it on the big screen, more of a rental/netflix watch.

The Avengers. Loved the Hulk in this one, Probably the best Version out the Three Movies the character has been in.

Fantastic! It's great seeing a classic vampire in a 21st century film for once!
