Would it be a good idea if Sam and Carly have a kid after the events of DOTM, named Spike Witwicky (aka G1 Protagonist), and he takes the role from there? I've had this idea for a while and I was wondering if they would create something like this... Thoughts?

They need to build up to it, such as have them get married and/or have Carly pregnant during the coarse of a film.

So you want a kid to be the lead in TF4? I think we had enough kids with the TF Universe (G1, TF Prime and to some extend the first 3 movies). Why not have some grown up men and women instead for a change. Something darker but still within the PG 13 mark.

Well, I don't necessarily think it should be a kid, maybe let some years pass before he is Sam's age in the first transformers (2007). I would just love them to introduce Spike Witwicky into the film, to get a feeling of G1.

Actually, it would be a wish come true if future TF movies became rated R..but we know that it wouldn't be good for the business since it's based off of a children's tv series.

Anyways, I would like it if they stuck with adults playing as the lead/supporting roles.

I couldn't think of anything more cringe-worthy than an R-rated TF movie.

What exactly would an R rating give TF that it doesn't alreay have? It already has swearing, it has some pretty voilent moments, and some downright scary looking bad guys. So other than blood, and gore I don't see what R would achieve.

As far them having a kid, I'm not sure. I don't like the idea of having a jump forward in time quite so far.

First and foremost, the R rated TF film. Hell to the motherf**king no. You have kids to sell this thing to. It's a movie based off a kid's toy. Besides, since when does rating determine a film's quality?

Secondly, the kid factor. I don't care what age the main human character is, just as long as he/she is a good character. (Your milage may vary with Sam, etc.) The reason why a kid/kids serve as the main human character in TF cartoons is because they are meant to serve as the audience surrogate. And who is the target audience for these shows?
