Grimlock is the exact character that should replace ironhide. He is a perfect match and for all intensive purposes he is unquestionably the single strongest transformer.

I personally think that the Dinobots in general could easily be incorporated into the story. After all they have been here a long time right? The Dinobots could simply be a group that has no faction that have been on Earth for a long time. We need a character that is more powerful than Prime. Frankly Prime has evolved into something that lacks any real challenger. The conflicts between Grimlock and prime just as it was in G1 early on would be pretty impressive.

I was thinking Hound would be more suitable as a replacement, but yes Grimlock would also do nicely.

Maybe after how he has been received in Fall of Cybertron and now of more younger fans aware of him, he could make an appearance in TF4.

No. Ironhide was Optimus' weapons specialist and old friend. Grimlock is the leader of the Dinobots and much stronger and bigger than Prime. Grimlock grudgingly takes orders from Prime and tends to be more rogue and confrontational. He isn't the same 'Yes Man' as Ironhide. And being bigger and stronger would just overshadow Prime which is not what you want. Grimlock and the Dinobots should only be used as a last resort or just for some fun bickering or destroying of things. They should be used sparingly.

Kup could replace Ironhide.

I'd also love to see an appearance of the Sharkticons. Showing that being in the water is just as dangerous as being in the air or on land. Save them for an 'Oh Crap' moment that is hidden from the press and media and only noticed when you see the movie as a cameo.

If I were Bay I would introduce the Dinobots with their names and Dino modes intact corresponding to the cartoons characters into the 4th movie. But doing press events I would piss off the fanbase by saying how Grimlock is a military vehicle and that the other 'Dinobots' will have cool forms too. And that the reason they are called the Dinobots is because 'Dino' invented them. lol. Lame? Maybe. Priceless to see the reactions after the fans have peed themselves? Priceless! LOL Then after an online riot has started, put out an actual drawing of one of the Dinobots being used in the movie under a different name or 'source' to one of the TF websites. Then watch as the fans say it's not real because of what Bay already said. Or how it's a fan drawing that's better than anything Bay could do. lol

For 1 month even it would just be worth it. lol
