I am sorry but this movie was somewhat entertaining but, it wasn't a good movie. The parasites were not a good idea at all. there design was unorginal i could have sworn i killed them in some video game. i would have liked it more if they were more like the original creature. The orginal creatures design was horrible itself. it looked like a freaking cobra with four legs.

Now other than the shooting style there wasn't really anything remotely original about this movie. The guy who playted hud kept me so detached from the movie it was ridiculous. Seriously the stoner attitude got old quickly. I would liked a better actor in that role. Some one who could display a wider array of emotion would have been much appreciated.

Also who in hell would call a chick before they call their brother after just losing him in a bridge collapse? I mean unless you saw his body your going to call hoping he isnt dead. Also after just seeing these crazy ass little creatures running around why don't you keep that crowbar? and you end up in a shopping area and your wearing heels and a dress you don't think to yourself hey i might want to get some reasonable freakin shoes for running?maybe some jeans also cause things might get worse?

I guess the only saving grace is the fact that the sequel should clear things up. I mean the main monster wasn't even shown so we still have that to look forward to. if it is going to be a sequel or a series this has the ptoential to be a good first film if not then he could have kept this movie in his mind.

ya...it was called Half-Life...HEAD CRABS! =P I thought they were cool.

Pretty much why I don't think this movie deserves an Oscar at all. I'm confused by the Oscar talk people through around.

Eh...those are just minor details that aren't really important. You could argue that in the heat of the moment they didn't have time to think about changing clothes. Also, they saw the tail land on the guy.

Also the creature at the end was a darker color, and the one in the city had a sleek winding look and was white. There is nothing that says there was only 1. If those little parasite things grow and are a representation of something bigger than maybe we just saw big brother and not mama and big daddy.

The mini monsters were a disappointment, and you could have goe without them EXCEPT for the fact they caused something to happen when they bite you... Also who is to say that there isn't another film that is 1/2 way finished. With Jamie and Teddy's background, and the rigs or other... you really could assume that during this time (knowing in the film we say other people taking video) there may be others out there 1/2 way done or even from a military POV. That is a thought.

I think that's what the director was saying in regards to a sequel.

Click my linky above.....regarding sequel talks.

head crabs don't have tentacles. Though the creatures in the movie were bigger and didnt really look anything like head crabs, for some reason they just reminded me of them.

It reminded me of a Tarantula with the head of a creature from starship troopers. Only bluish and white.

And this thing way not big enough to rip the head off of lady liberty and STILL be in the water. I vote for more than 1 monster. I'm checking it out with a friend who runs a theater. He's going to screen it for a bunch of friends. Going to force a projector shut down to run in manual and feed through the seconds of the Monster to see WTF it is...

Looks like the body of a bat/dragon from reign of fire w/o the film of the wings. ALSO, I didn't see that long swinging tail we all saw in those overhead shots. Not to mention the color of the beast. There is a link to see that animation. It's a lot faster online than it shows in the theater, but it is enough to see it.

Yhea I thought it was a pretty good flick enjoyed it alot.Thought most of the acting was pretty good...I also liked that it was'nt a nice happy ending.Everyone dies.I must admit though it did remind of the creature from the mist, yes and the insectoid things also reminded me of starship troopers, the creature did have a cuthuluness to it's nature as well.it was this big...well indescribable thing that comes out of the ocean and one is only left to speculate where something so large would come from.

I'm gonna check right now I got it.I'll let you know...I did see steven king on good day usa or some show of the likes, trying to market his new book.He mentioned cloverfeild and how much he liked it,that he thought of it as a kinda prequel to the mist.I thought so too.the giant beastie did resemble the beast in the mist as well as the starship trooper thingies.

Well the director himself said there's something in that scene.

Maybe not in the water....but in that scene.

yhea I rechecked it there is a giant boat and what looks to be either a smaller boat,or waves from the boat, but there is no visible obvious monster or anything like that,I watched it three times and then watched it in slowmoyion then pause go pause to see if there was anything significant in the scene.there isn't if he said he put a wave in there to suggest a large monster I'm buying that but, that wave looks like a wave created by the large boat in front of it.

Eh... is it possible that you could be talking about something that falls out of the sky and into the water? 'Cause there's something going on about that in the Cloverfield forums...

I'm one of the people that have kept up with the hype from this movie from Day 1. I officially looooove Cloverfield! Haha.. it definitely exceeded my expectations! *bows down to Matt Reeves and JJ Abrams*
