Thread: How do Transformers Heal Themselves?

Default How do Transformers Heal Themselves?

I became an avid fan for Transformers after watching the movie and I realized that all the Transformers have stronger body physique than homo sapien because they are exoskeleton types. But one thing that made me wonder is how can they recuperate so quickly, I mean, when Optimus Prime told Sam that Bumblebee's vocal processor has been damaged, Ratchet holds his arm and a laser light shone on Bumblebee's neck and... Bumblebee coughed. So I want to know what that light was and does the Transformers history explain how they can heal so quickly?

I think the metal that they are made of self-regenerates.

I agree, it probably self regenerates over a certain period of time, as in one shot OP was pretty messed up, later on he was fine. Who knows what the laser was, obviously some form of healing/activation/revival beam, i dunno.

Their skin or armor is a self regenerative armor. They are basicly one big nano molecular life form. There nano tech is also why their arms can change into weapons. Like when BB turned his arm into a cannon. Or whem Megatron turned his arms into a cannon.

Yeah.. Each 'molecule' is like a machine onto itself.

Lawl. They're pretty much like humans with REALLY hard skin. They heal over time but at a much, much faster rate then humans.

Really hard skin? uhh... oh.. you're talking about metal..? I wonder what type of processor they use to heal that fast.

Yes, I'm talkin' about the metal. Lol. They use a really good processer? No microsoft for them(sorry, inside joke). I dunno', I'm no computer/robots in disguise expert.

The Autobots get Ratchet to heal them and the Decepticons just do quick botch jobs on themselves.

Yeah, probably. Where would they be without ol' Ratchet.

I understand how every molecule contains a life of itself, but then why would the autobots need the weapon specialist Ironhide, if they can change their body into weapon?

LOL.. he might be good with helping to fix others up, but.. he sure is a grumpy old autobot..

OMG! Ratchet's a junkie! A shock junkie! Lawl(Did you know that in the comic version, Jazz was the one who got shocked? Lol).

Really? Hmm.. when you say comic version, do you mean one full length comic of the entire movie.. or is it an extension to the movie.. kind of like how Dreamwave was putting out comics for the longest time ?

A comic version of the entire movie. I can't find any other TF comics. My bookstores SUCK(I don't live near any comic stores).

They can only change certain parts of their bodies into weapons. (Unless your G1 Megatron/Galvatron and can turn into the weapon.)
I believe Ironhide is the weapons specialist since he probably has the most skill and experience in using heavy artillery.

    "How do transformers heal themselves?"

Well its simple really.......The transformers run around looking for heart shaped symbols around town, and that helps a bit. but when they get blasted to pieces, they just select "continue" in their processors and voila!!! Brand spankin new !

Since the first time I saw the movie I tagged it to Nanotechnology.

The original tv series did not contained that element because back in the eighties such a term hadn't catch the mainstream culture.

Now a days many tv shows feature episodes with nanotech plots (sci-fi's Roswel for example) In the episode the microscopic robots can build more of themselvels using the available microscopics materials around them. The plot was so farfetched that the nanos will replicate the shape of humans at sight and in an instant disassemble to particle cloud and scape through an air bent. And the end they EMP (electromagnetic pulse) them to put them off service.

I remember That University of Albany in New York is building a nano science Complex.

    "Nanotechnology

    From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

    Jump to: navigation, search

Buckminsterfullerene C60, also known as the buckyball, is the simplest of the carbon structures known as fullerenes. Members of the fullerene family are a major subject of research falling under the nanotechnology umbrella.

Nanotechnology refers broadly to a field of applied science and technology whose unifying theme is the control of matter on the atomic and molecular scale, normally 1 to 100 nanometers, and the fabrication of devices with critical dimensions that lie within that size range.
It is a highly multidisciplinary field, drawing from fields such as applied physics, materials science, interface and colloid science, device physics, supramolecular chemistry (which refers to the area of chemistry that focuses on the noncovalent bonding interactions of molecules), self-replicating machines and robotics, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, biological engineering, and electrical engineering. Much speculation exists as to what may result from these lines of research. Nanotechnology can be seen as an extension of existing sciences into the nanoscale, or as a recasting of existing sciences using a newer, more modern term.
Two main approaches are used in nanotechnology. In the "bottom-up" approach, materials and devices are built from molecular components which assemble themselves chemically by principles of molecular recognition. In the "top-down" approach, nano-objects are constructed from larger entities without atomic-level control. The impetus for nanotechnology comes from a renewed interest in Interface and Colloid Science, coupled with a new generation of analytical tools such as the atomic force microscope (AFM), and the scanning tunneling microscope (STM). Combined with refined processes such as electron beam lithography and molecular beam epitaxy, these instruments allow the deliberate manipulation of nanostructures, and led to the observation of novel phenomena.
Examples of nanotechnology in modern use are the manufacture of polymers based on molecular structure, and the design of computer chip layouts based on surface science. Despite the great promise of numerous nanotechnologies such as quantum dots and nanotubes, real commercial applications have mainly used the advantages of colloidal nanoparticles in bulk form, such as suntan lotion, cosmetics, protective coatings, drug delivery[1], and stain resistant clothing."
