Let me make this as clear as I can: MICHAEL BAY DESERVES THIS AWARD.![]()
I hate haters...
Because "Dark of the Moon was f*cking robbed."
I predict the nominees will be:
Transformers DOTM
Planet Of The Apes
Deathly Hallows Part 2
Hugo
Sucker Punch
If DOTM doesn't end up on the list, then I'll be pissed.
Knowing the Academy though, they'll give the win to Apes.
Optimus: "Amazing! A booby trap that actually catches boobies!"
Unfortunately, this will most likely be the case.Especially since Fox is trying to get Andy Serkis nominated for Best Actor (Academy would never go for that). Don't get me worng, Apes was cool, but the effects' realism suffered whenever the apes were running/moving. (I guess WETA had their hands full again.
)
Although, if DOTM doesn't end up in the final five, I'm going to hurt someone. Literally, I'll walk outside and punch some random person. (Sarcasm)

I love the idea of a movie about giant alien robots winning an Oscar. :borat
No movie deserves the best visual FX Oscar more than Transformers: Dark of the Moon. Its a scandal that Transformers 2007 did not win, so they have to make up for it now. But they wont, because the Oscars are nothing more than a stupid publicity stunt.
i would be grt if dotm gets best vfx award, but i am looking forward for the sound categories more becoz there is no deny dotm is having the finest soundwork of all time.
Apes will win no doubt, that's just how the Oscars are.
"My story is of many thousands, and the world will not suffer if it ends too soon."
I still think Transformers should have won best visual effects back in 2007. I don't know why they gave it to The Golden Compass.

I agree, oscars will never award Michael Bay anything. But, they also think they are special because they don't like to award popular movies period, because they still could have given the award to Pirates of the Caribbean, but alas, it was a popular movie. But the Golden Compass, I never even heard of the movie till I heard it beat out Transformers.
It would have been nice if TF won an oscar for VFX but it's clear Bay ain't getting one. Regardless though, Transformers will be left in history being known as a big step forward in the special effects world.
Transformers 3 clearly proved how great these robots can look in action.
They've narrowed it down and DOTM is still in!
http://www.cinemablend.com/new/Trans...ist-28646.htmlCaptain America: The First Avenger
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2
Hugo
Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol
Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides
Real Steel
Rise of the Planet of the Apes
Transformers: Dark of the Moon
The Tree of Life
X-Men: First Class

Captain America was well done I thought. Nothing mindblowing, but turning 6' Chris Evans into a tiny twerp, and pulling it off I thought was well done and seamless.
I read this morning that DOTM got nominations for best VFX, sound editing, and sound mixing!
Congrats to Bay and all the talented people who worked on the movie!

My bold prediction, Hugo will win everything. Why? It's already a critics' darling, so why not just award them everything else?
Don't get me wrong, I want Dark of the Moon to win, but you gotta consider the mindset the Academy has.
I will be one very surprised fleshling if DOTM wins any of these. I think it is deserving, but it also should have won for TF and ROTF.Originally Posted by Trailbreaker

TF3 will get the sound Oscars and the visual effects Oscar can go either to TF3 or Planet of the Apes.
The Dolby True HD 7.1 sound on Blu-ray is by far the best sound I've heard so far of any of the Blu-ray movies that I have that has 7.1 sound!
It kicks Kick Ass ass. Pirates 4 ass! Scarface ass! It kicks everybody's ass!!
Though the movies I mentioned have DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1 sound and not Dolby True HD 7.1, but I don't believe the difference between these two formats is that big...
Not to burst any bubbles, but either Hugo or Rise Of The Apes will win. At least DOTM was nominated.![]()
