Just saw the entire video of the Karen Klein bullying.

And personally, I don't blame the kids. I blame the dumb, idiotic parents who don't pay attention to their children and use all kinds of lame excuses to save their own asses when it's all out of control. They're the ones who should be punished. And maybe they'll realize that it would be, you know....good for them to sit for one hour with their kids and explain to them what's good behavior and what's bad behavior. Be a good parent, instead of leaving your kid in front of the computer 24/7.

Unfortunately, I think it's too late for these kids.

Also, not to bash Karen or anything, but as a bus monitor, isn't it her job to keep their behavior in check? The fact that she's just sitting there letting them harass her like that just shows that she isn't doing her job. In my school, those kids would have been written up and kicked off the bus the moment the first insult was hurled.

What does "mellow" mean? Because I think it's more about ignorance than softness. I think it's just that they simply don't give a damn these days. It's not, "oh, I don't believe in being a hard ass, it's not good for my kids' health." It's more, "Huh, what? Oh be right back, gotta check my crops on Farmville!"

You don't have to be a hard ass to be a good parent, either. It's all about paying attention to your kids. If you maintain a very active relationship with them, while laying down the law at the same time, you're gonna be a good parent.

Slightly off topic, but what I extremely hate these days is when parents blame teachers for their kids' poor academic strength. Yes, there are bad teachers out there, but as the son of a teacher, I hate it when a parent thinks they're entitled to go mouth off their kid's teacher when he/she fails their test, while completely ignoring the fact that their kid was playing Call of Duty on their Xbox till 3 AM the night before.

Well, I believe "softness" plays a big part here. The parents (well, some of them) are too afraid to say something harsh to their kids, because they'll go emo on them. It's like "The kids are too damn fragile and that's why we'll go easy on them." That way they're giving them total freedom. Yes, some of them are indeed very ignorant, but others are way too mellow and nice. I know that from my own observation.

The way I see it, sometimes you need to be harsh and brutally honest with the kids, especially the younger boys. Or...they'll be more and more people like Karen Klein or that poor Minnesota girl Rachel Ehmke.

I just saw the vid you talked about, jezus these kids have no freakin respect what so ever for elderly people.
If you did that here everybody would turn against you in a heartbeat and smack the shit out of you.
These kids need to feel some serious consequences of their actions.

I also don't get why nobody said anything or other kids stood up for the lady or that the lady didn't say anything back to them like "Yeah and over 50 years you'll look like THIS!" or "people who swear and curse have a small vocabulary" could have stopped it right there and then.

If i missed anything i'm sorry i scrubbed through the whole video nothing but the same lame comments from these kids..
