Gears Of War (1,2 and 3,...)

Hey guys,

I know we could all talk about games in 1 thread but making a thread for every game makes it all orderly which i like.
So.. how many people have played Gears Of War? is it any good? whats it about?



My brother bought an Xbox together with his gf so maybe i might buy Gears of War 3 but i wanna know what you guys think of it and what are the best parts of the game how do you experience the game etc.?
I also know Steve J. composes music for the Gears of War game franchise and that Michael's company works on this game thats all i know and Ive seen a few GOW3 trailers.

Play the first two games before getting the third. It's got a massive story arc that flows through all three games. They're fantastic.

We have Mass Effect

Noe for GOW: Amazing saga, very end of the world. I'ts action packed, but GOW2 is more personal shall we say. GOW3 is barely new, but something tells me it's the best.
Also, Steve Jablonsky composed for GOW2 & 3, so that's enough right?

Michael Bay should consider them...

Which is more than all the PS3-exclusive games combined (in terms of quality). Aside from having a Blu-ray player, I don't know what the big deal is with the PS3. I had one, I never used it. Bought it to play God of War and Gran Turismo and got bored half way. I gave it away to my parents.

Gears/Halo are to action as Metal Gear Solid/Heavy Rain are to story telling.

Each system has their perks. Each system has fantastic exclusive titles. It's really only a matter of personal preference. I have both because IMO they are both worth having. And for non-exclusive titles I wait until reviews are out for suggestions on which console to buy it on.

not true at all, well each person likes different kinda games etc.. but in terms of exclusives, the ps3 cant be beaten.. Uncharted, Infamous, Resistance, Killzone, Heavy Rain, Gran Turismo, God of war etc....i could go on and on.. and games like Uncharted 2 are game of the year winners! also the free to play online, and Blu Ray as a format as of now can't be beat.. eg Battlefield 3 for x360 is on 2 discs! and if i remeber correctly, la noire was on 3! but yeah, each system has their perks like evergamer said..

The reason why i don't have a Xbox is because:

- The PS1 was first in 1995 and had great games like Medal of Honor and many others.
- We like the brand Sony they have great stuff, its a bit expensive sometimes but thats all.
- PS3 has:

• Blu-ray Player + 3D
• Not have a disc-drive that pops out for putting a disc in it, PS3 just swallows it and spits it out (there no way you can break the drive of the console)

And i didn't buy a Xbox because of this..

this problem was with every Xbox released here, that kept me away from the Xbox the most
- And the fact that you have to pay to play online or something is also what kept me away from buying an Xbox.
And this commercial also was a bit negative i thought back then:

It's like they are saying your throwing your life away with gaming or something, but gaming a little sometimes doesnt do anything bad to you.

BUT this Kinect thing is pretty cool and i really dont think about all the things i just said above here so i can always buy a Xbox if i want to
Why i would want to buy an Xbox:
- Kinect
- Some games coming out
- The gamepoint you guys get and buy games online with that after getting trophies is prety cool.

I hear you! I like the PS3 but I can't say I like it more or less than the the 360. I've only owned a PS3 and never had any xbox's. Can't wait for Uncharted 3 and Assassin's Creed: Revelations!

But none of those PS3 games comes close in regards to sales of exclusive games. No PS3 exclusive game has sold as much as Halo or GOW (unless you collectively count sales of GT or Final Fantasy).

As for the PS3 having a BR player, all I care about is that it's a gaming console. As the PS3 has better specs than the xBox360, what's the point if your content isn't all that. I mean, there has to be a reason the xBox outsells the PS3, right?

BTW, I detest Microsoft. But I feel they have done more than well with the Xbox. If only they were that good with their other products.
