That's great to hear, I plan on going to see this movie purely because of him.

Oh, I bought and seen numerous times already, Rise of the Planet of the Apes. My favorite movie of the year, and I'm totally looking forward to the sequel. I was surprised to realize how short the movie was though. I liked how it told the story promptly and kept things in a nice, tight package.

Kung Fu Panda 2: A great sequel that surpasses the original.MI: 4: Best sequel in the series, hands down. The Adventures of TinTin: I saw an early screening of this and this movie is the best animated film of the year, a must see.

Sherlock Holmes 2. It wasn't as good as the first one. A lot of action, but the story is revealed pretty fast and it doesn't take a genius to figure out what Professor Moriarty wants to do in the movie. And the fact that he's actually revealed quite early got a minus from my side. Would have been better if he should have stayed hidden like in the first movie and revealed his face much later.
But if this becomes a hit world wide, then I wouldn't be surprised if we get to see Shelly for a third time on the big screen.

Colombiana - a mixture of Leon and the last hour of Bad Boys 2. Of course it was not that good. : rol

HP 7 part2 - an appropriate end for a well adapted great book.

Warrior - its been a while since a sports movie was this satisfying. recommended. Great performances throughout. Hardy is a beast in this. Anticipation for Bane role gets even greater now.

Sidenote: I know you were asking swishbig but, saw Drive twice in theaters. Recommended as well, but I'd say get in the mindset that it's more atmospheric than action. for the same reason that you want to tune out critics' excessive hate on a movie, this is one you might want to tune out critics' excessive praise, and take it for what it is.

Great, thanks! These two are next in my list of must see.
It would be great if you guys share a sentence or two about the movies you see. I really appreciate the opinions of some of the SFTE members. :borat

Drive was a hell of a movie! I thought it was great! But just like r-type stated. It's more atmospheric than action packed. It creates tension the whole way through and that's why I liked it a lot. Ryan Gossling plays a character like you've never seen although he's pretty quiet through the whole film. You should totally check it out.

Sherlock Holmes 2: Great entertainment; Moriarty was played wonderfully, and the climatic scene was the only way it could've been.

Final Destination 5 - They really outdid themselves in terms of horrible deaths!

Don't be Afraid of the Dark - a decent creature movie with the involvement of Guillermo del Toro.

The day the earth stood still
The Joneses - funny idea, but no good writing
We need to talk about Kevin - its hard to tell anything about this one, there is so much to it

Rum Diary - Johnny Depp started to age how shocking! It is a decent movie though

Elle s'appelait Sarah (a.k.a. Sarah's Key) - A good film per se, but I shouldn't have seen it, because I know what it feels like to find the truth lying beyond the door.

Yamamoto Isoroku - a movie about Isoroku Yamamoto, a Japanese naval marshal general and the commander-in-chief of the combined fleet during World War II, and about battles he led even though he had serious reservations about, such as Pearl Harbor and Midway.

"He is known as one of the very few military leaders who vocally opposed the occupation of China, the Tripartite Pact, and the war with the U.S., though in doing so he received death threats from nationalists.

Having studied at Harvard University, he was reluctant to enter into war with the United States. He was aware of their overwhelming industrial capacity compared to that of Japan, and felt that only a knockout blow would remove the US threat to Japan. He also did not trust Nazi Germany"
The movie depicts Yamamoto as a man who tried to swiftly end the war that was started by ultranationalists. Another Pearl Harbor movie with a historical-drama approach.

Finally saw Super 8. Thought it was just okay. The creature was also kind of a let down, as I feel Abrams did't stray far enough from his previous movie when designing it.
