The continuity in Michael Bay's Transformers universe is now so hopelessly screwed up that I doubt the third film will make much sense anyway. Mikaela's disappearance will probably go unnoticed.

I know what you mean. It might be nice to have him start out as a WWII jeep, and then upgrade to a more modern vehicle later on.
