Pretty sure this was a Bay decision. He worked with Fichtner on "Pearl Harbor" and "Armageddon" and they're good buddies. Very, very good choice.

As for "Ted", that was a summer comedy with a huge marketing campaign and a budget of over $60 million. And the main character...

That's impossible for a movie like "Pain & Gain". Even "Armageddon" couldn't crack $40 million (opening weekend).

Considering the budget, the R rating and the fact that it's not a typical summer...
