Looks more like a father/son bonding movie more than a robot fighting movie. Robots just a backdrop, but still looks unique, and I do like Hugh Jackman, so, will probably see it.

love robots, love boxing. am looking forward to this one..
Just like RoTF, then! /kneeslap
In all seriousness though, it looks pretty fun. Robots beating the shit out of each other is always a good movie premise.
Edit: wait never mind the above video showed they're controlled by humans. They must have some degree of sentience, though. Oh well. I'll find out when I see the movie.
Robert Zemeckis is finally coming back to producing real movies instead of doing uncanny valley CGI Mocap films and this will be proof
Who else is going to see this tonight? :D
This movie (to me) helps to fill the emptiness created by the uncertainty over Transformers 4. (Just like Iron Man, The Dark Knight and Iron Man 2 filled the summers between the trilogy.)
I may see this, when it gets here, argh!!!
Also, The Avengers trailer is with this one :D
My thoughts:
Taking to mind that the director's previous work were the 'Night at the Museum' films, this was a pretty good robot beat 'em up film. However, the robots weren't autonomous, and didn't talk. And the pacing towards the end pissed me off a little. But the fighting scenes are where this film shines. All the fights we well choreographed, and well animated by Digital Domain. :D If you had doubts about seeing this, the end fight is worth the admission.
3.5/5
Great movie! Great soundtrack, great sounds, the boy's acting was pretty good for his age. This is a kid's movie but I really enjoyed it even the "sweet parts". I admit Shawn Levy surprised me with his directing skills this time.
P.S. Oh, and one last thing - Zeus was bad ass! Damn I love robots.

I f**king loved it. Nothing like a good old fashioned, coming-of-age, father and son story...WITH ROBOTS!!!! Especially Atom. He's like an Autobot!
Seriously, this movie was like the most fun I have had in over two months.
Will go see this weekend.
Here is a great featurette about the great sounds of Real Steel.

Any people here watched this when they were young? :)
Anyone noticed that Spielberg produced this movie too. Let's see, I-Robot, Transformers and now Real Steel. Steven must really like robots!
So who checked it out? Two weeks in a row, number one. That means something.
If you haven't already, go see this movie. Lots of heart, good action.
Really fun and enjoyable movie i should say.
Kind of like Rocky meets Appleseed, highly influenced by anime all the way mainly the mecha stuff of the past like Gundam and Masamune Shiro's stuff.
got my bluray copy yesterday. I watched it for 5 times. what a great movie.
I checked the special features. when they interview the director, my first thought was "is that Michael Bay?" he wore the jacket that i think looks exactly the one Bay is wearing when hes doing an interview in one of TFs special features.
