As for madison's question the word avatar comes comes from the hinduist term "avatara" and refers literally to "descent ( from heaven to Earth)" but is used more loosely as "incarnation" or "manifestation". Because of that it became common use to describe a users photo or character on forums, RPG's, etc. Hence the title of the movie, since that's what the N'Avi/Jake is. My favorite avatar (and where i first heard the word, actually) is the character of Captain Avatar from the classic anime Star Blazers. Hope that helped. And yes, i'm kind of a nerd. Besos, Martita.
