I think Leonard Nimoy is one of the best actors ever, but having him voice Sentinel Prime to me causes worry that it will remind me too much of him doing Galvatron in the G1 Transformers movie back in 86 and spoil his character.

Fans who have never seen the G1 movie wont be affected.

Try and forget G1 movie while watching TF3 cause if you dont it will ruin your watching experience, you'll be amazed how great Sentinel prime will be in this movie.

You need not worry. I'm sure Mr. Nimoy will be voiceing the Sentinal completly different than when he did Galvatron back in 86.

his voice for Galvatron was "angry," can't see why he'd use the same voice for SP.

You say this like Leonard Nimoy has only voiced Megatron and Sentinel in his life. He is not only famous actor but also a famous voice actor. He is a professional so he won't have problems voicing anyone. Check his filmography:

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000559/

And let's not forget that after 25 years your voice do change after all.

I've seen the G1 movie and I won't be affected. I'm gonna be reminded about Spock a thousand times more than I'll be reminded about Galvatron when I hear him speak. I imagine he'll sound like his role as old Spock in J.J. Abrams' Star Trek.

It's not a problem for me, it's not as if when you here Peter Cullen's Optimus Prime voice you are reminded of his Eeyore voice.

Wow, Nimoy doing a voice over in this movie. They're sticking a whole bunch of candy in this movie for the nerds at heart.

Wasn't it established that Cullen didn't do Eeyore?

Nope, Cullen does the voice according to several sites:

There is also such a thing called a computer where you can change a lot of your voice.
So NO WORRIES!

I'm tired of people comparing the live action films with G1. Trust me they are two totally different versions on a certain level.

LOL Okay.

But yeah, I love Nimoy, and had one of those girlish nerd screams (the high pitched "EEEEEEEEE!!" kind) when i found out he was going to be voicing Sentinel Prime. I really enjoyed his work as Galvatron in the 1986 film, so I'm happy that he's returned to the franchise.

I wouldn't worry too much about the thing that Leonard Nimoy will sound like Mr. Spock from Star Trek or something like that. Hugo Weaving does the voice for Megatron and he doesn't sound one bit like he sounded as agent Smith in the Matrix movies. After seeing the first movie and when the credits started to roll and I saw his name, I was like WHAT! Agent Smith from Matrix?!! :D

yeah i was a bit worried about doing Megs voice. (still think Frank Welker is the king at voicing Megs) but i was pleasantly suprised by it... Leonard Nimoy is a first class voice actor as well as film.. i think we will all be surprised by it.
