There's a 'review' of the new JJ Abrams' Star Trek on ainticoolnews.com and just....wow....idiocy reigns, I'm sure.

This reviewer really rips into Orci and Kurtzman's script of the movie...I won't get into details because it irks me to read it.

I'm sorry, but who gives a flying shit if in fact it is not consistent with the original series? This is a prequel. Get over it.

Anywhoos, if you're interested, just go to www.aintitcool.com (http://www.aintitcool.com) and click on the 'big trek update' link.

I for one am looking forward in seeing how the franchise is rebooted, regardless of the script or storyline.

if you are going to make a star trek movie it better damn well be consistent. Trekkies are a WHOLLLLE lot harsher than any TFfan. they could very well end that movie before it gets to theaters

Yes, that is true about Trekkies being a whole lot harsher than TF fans....and basically I grew up on TNG, so I'm not sure about the original series.

I did watch a few of TNG, Picard rite? I did like those when I watched them, never addicted or anything though. And the couple of films they did with him, or one whatever. I can imagine it'll be quite a nice film though, looks wise. I'll wait for the DvD however. :P

Roberto has already confirmed they didn't read the real script on Don Murphy's board.

AICN is once again full of shit. I always stay as far away to that site as I possibly can. It's always humorous how those talkback sections are ALWAYS filled with negative comments, on like every movie coming out. Who is Harry Knowles anyway? That he and people in the business seems to think he has some kind of power concerning upcoming movies is pathetic. Who care what he thinks anyway? Read his Blade II-review for God sake, he's a strange strange man.

Yes....you make a good point. Ain't It Cool News' talkbackers are some of the most outlandish posters ever.

And Harry led Raven and me on the hook about cloverfield's beastie. Damn, how cruel. How friggin' cruel.

I'm with you BB, I'm a little worried about what I'm reading. I grew up on ST took, my shows were TNG and DS9, though I watched them all.

My hope is that their re imagining works, I really do want it to because as much as I don't like what I'm hearing I still want to see ST do well. After the disappointments of Star Trek Nemesis and Star Trek Enterprise they need a win.

I so loved TNG. DS9 was okay.

I wanted to buy that CD of Pikard's sayings. Really should have, it'd be a novelty now.

I hope that they are re-imagining the works. And Nemesis and Enterprise? *vomit* Enterprise was okay, it started out somewhat promising, but wasn't the real thing.

I think Enterprise could have been amazing, it was just not as intelligent as the other shows. With TNG or DS9 we are sometimes given this great ethical dillemas that not only make for a great show but a great chat afterwards.

Enterprise was pretty straight forward, I liked the look of it though. The NX01 was the first ship that I though, hey, that's cool. It was the natural progression from aircraft carriers and nuclear subs. It was tight, cramped, very military.

Do you watch Stargate? I think the ships on that show are awesome.

I used to watch Stargate, but then real life got in the way. :(
