Ok, So I am back in my home town, and I was finishing up shopping with my mom for Christmas dinner. The town is about 60k people and called Longview. Now, my parents divorced about 2 or 3 years ago on December 19th. Turns out while shopping two police officers approach her and ask her if her name is *******. She agrees. I turn around and tell her to say nothing. They tell me I am abstructing justice and to step away. I told them I was shopping in a Wal-mart with my mom, and not party to their query (word for word). My mom looking scared turns to me as one police officer asks her about theft, and the other tells me I need to move along.

My moms talks to the officers, and I tell them I am a law student and get replied to as "Yea everyone watches law and order or CSI and think they are lawyers.". I replied no, but do you have proof of a signed warrant (he said there was a warrant) OR have a warrant at the court house. He replies, "Mam you need to come with me". Never answers the question until I ask for badge numbers and he tells me, "Here is a card it's more useful in filing a complain than my badge, and our word is all the proof we need".

I SWEAR! They said other words to my mother approaching her with accusations that stem from my parents divorce and my Bio. Father wanting to ruin Christmas (he is a doctor with an ego). They book my mother claiming as they do "Don't worry any lawyer can get someone out of jail on christmas eve no matter what year".

I SWEAR!

She's booked, and ran through and no warrant. Turns out my father gave a call to a girlfriend in the D.A.'s office and followed my mother in regards to a parking ticket that had been paid off on thursday of this week! One officer apologized to her, and I got her out after 3 hours and her not ever getting a phone call. She recalls a cop talking about how many "more do we need?" and "If you didn't do it right don't worry I have you."

Sounds like a film right? All true. I have never gotten in trouble with the cops and neither has my mother until Christmas Eve... WTF! Come to find out they followed her until 2:00 Christmas eve (when banks closed) and thought they could get her to stay for a bit because of no bonds man being open. During the mean time they have her purse, and when she is out and we go to her car the Rear view mirror is broken off, and in her purse is missing her license, and car proof of insurance.

We are followed home by a squad car (as I drive not her). They wanted her to get behind the wheel with no license no insurance and a broken mirror after being bailed. This is all 100% true and happened today. I have a meeting with the D.A. Wednesday, and looks like someone has some splaining to do. There was no warrant only an outstanding ticket that was paid on Thursday. This is why I don't like cops... Fukin quotas.

I really am serious. 100% true... not made up. The more rude of the cops even asked if he could bring me in for "harassing them" because I wanted badge numbers. Merry Christmas Officers...

Damn dude....just damn.

That's incredibly disheartening, especially on Christmas eve! WTF?!?

And your father has too much influence with the officers there. That's not right.

all cops are corrupt...i don't care if someone here is a cop or a family member they know is a cop...fuck you or fuck them. EVERY SINGLE COP is corrupt. They may fly straight most of them time, but every once in a while they let the power of being a cop take over. And that's one time to much.

People claim to become cops to 'help out' and make this world a 'better place' and while that may be true...a huge part of them is doing it, is for the power trip. Plain and simple.

I have never liked cops. I've had to many bullshit run in's with them and heard of one to many stories. I will never like cops. To many of them walk around with this cocky swagger. And women cops...don't even get me started. Women should not be allowed to be cops. They are worse then the men.

I hope you'll have a pleasant New Years holiday. :)

man thank god mine was just a nightmare....I had nothing but great news today till I read this.I just finnished next door to my brothers house you know doing the santa thing.and thought I'd check the forums as I'm still hyped up on coffee, sugar, and excitement. Plus My mom gave me the best present ever. she found my grandfather who we haven't spoken to in 15 + years! (long story.) I am so sorry to hear that. Some advice you got that card from the officer.plus his name is on the paper work your mom shoulda been givving upon release. Make a copy of it and go directly to the police make a report of what you beleived happen, then go to the d.a. and tell them, and let them no your father has connection to the office. I would also advize my mom to talk to a lawyer and maby you could talk to a proffesor and take legal actions against all parties in this gross neglegence of power and authority. Also I suggest your mom call her insurance company and file the complaint of damages against the police department.and notify the sherrifs department of theft of both important documents, and if nothing is done to rectify this gross misconduct which is unbecomming of an officer who took a oath to protect and serve us you'll take appropriate legal action against the department; also let them know. if the situation isnt rectified in a timely matter that you will be contacting the local media to let them know what transpied on a christmas eve! Bastards. Take that!

Thanks guys. Wednesday I think heads will roll. There was a segment on the news last night about things like this happening.

Still haven't heard another word from dad; the good thing is my mom is laughing and joking about it. :D

The sense of humor I get from her. She had the ladies (and 2x 19 year olds) in the Christmas Spirit as she left.
Even the little old lady who bailed her out said it was twisted. That's a smaller town doctor for you; they think they can do anything. Sad thing is in this case he can:o. My old D.A. friend is now a Judge though:D. The very Judge she'll see if the new D.A. doesn't throw this out.

Found out they really were told to wait til around two. Because they thought she would spend the night. I look young for my age, and could pass for 16 or 18 (if I am clean shaven) My mom said that the one officer thought I WAS 16 so he left me at the store just to be rude. AH well though I was pissed and had to share this.

Merry Christmas guys (and ladies)!!

You have a wonderful person for your mother. Humor is the best way of enjoying life. :)
Glad to hear you and your mom are all right now.
