I live in France... so I haven't seen Transformers yet!!!:( At the movie theatre it was dubbed into French... that's always horrible. I've ordered the DVD from Amazon UK, I should get it in the next couple of days.
Is it worth the wait?!! How does it compare to Bay's other films? Will I be disappointed?

It's the best movie directed by Mr.Bay so far and I think you will see a touch of Mr.Spielberg way of directing in some scenes.
It would be much better if you had the chance to watch the HD-DVD version on a 46" or 52" display, better yet on a 720p or 1080p projector at 80" or so...
Due to how the scenes were filmed, you might lose the needed visual impact watching it on a small screen. A 40" HDTV panel is the the bare minimum to enjoy the movie. Larger the screen and overall better the DVD upscaling will result in a better viewing experience for a movie like Transformers that has been made to be seen on very large screens. The best DVD upscaling you can get with either a PS3 or an HTPC with a DirectX 10 ATI or Nvidia graphic card and playback software like PowerDVD,Zoomplayer,Theatertek.

Thats horrible!!!!...I know we are not liked by many countries, but come to America.Movies are out pretty quickly...It must be hell watching Transformers in French. No offense to France..I do not speak french....I would've been sitting there for the full duration of the movie... and then i would've ran down the street delusional, ranting and raving in some strange tongue, while pulling my hair out........life must be some strange alter-dimension.a place called the twilight zone....p.s.,i watched it yesterday and it is still awesome!!!...and watch in slow-mo during transformation scenes,......fun!!....i cant wait to have lambo door hinges, then my car will look like its transforming too..!!:D

Thanks for the advice...:) But no home cinema replaces the movie theatre... I really regret not being able to see Transformers on the big screen:(
Why do they dub films anyway?!! When foreign movies are released in the US, you get subtitles... for all their supposed intellect, the French are not able to watch an English spoken movie. It's unbearable having to wait for American movies to be released on DVD in the UK, because of the region code I can't order directly from the States.:(

That is very unusual, and quite frankly annoying for Europeans such as yourself. :(

plot wise, the movie falls short. Also the ending is pretty weak. However, the characters are great and the action is superb.
