A rumour I heard...

I heard that after the third movie, Micheal Bay would be handing the reigns of directorship over to the guy who did the Return of Superman movie. Would anyone else like to comment?

Bryan Singer? As much as I like Singer's films, I don't think he'd be right for the Transformers series. Anyway, it's just a rumor.

Let's hope that is not the case.
Bryan Singer is unable to direct a Transformers movie properly. His Superman Returns movie was really sloppy, boring and a giant waste of money.. in fact it flopped pretty badly and WarnerBros is going to reboot the franchise.

If Michael Bay will stop directing Transformers movies himself and Steven Spielberg won't direct Transformers4 then other possible directors that could be able to achieve a very good movie I think could be:

Well Mr. Bay's movie are entertaining to watch and Mr. Singer made a good run with the X-men. Why not just make the ULTIMATE movie let them direct it together? It would be a great ending for a trilogy. I dont care if the movie is two hours like those of potter. They are both great writers and with Mr. Spielberg as a producer plus Mr. Zimmer with the music and we have ourselve a dreamteam.

Guess I'm the only one, but I definitely think that Singer can handle a movie like "Transformers". "Superman Returns" was a very big film with a lot of complicated CG work, especially the shuttle/plane scene.

I know it's just a rumor, but either way he's got my vote.

And on top of that, Star Wars belonged to George Lucas even if he wasn't directing! If anybody doesn't know here, George Lucas never directed Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. He was executive producer. I feel that if Bay were to actually hand the torch to some other director, it doesn't mean he's not going to have a strong influence on the production. Heck he might be executive producer like Lucas was for Empire and Jedi.

My take is Transformers 3 will arrive, Mr. Bay will have a big influence in it one way or the other. And we will pay to see if what posted here had any influence. Since there are other movies he (Bay) is wanting to do it wouldn't suprise me though if the third one is his last. I am sure he would produce a the fourth, just not direct. Which it wouldn't be the end of the world as long as they were careful as to who they let direct it. It's kinda like any job. When you have someone doing it too long they tend to get kinda sloppy with it. Yes, ROTF made an incredible amounts of money. But look at how many people didn't care for the story as much as the first. I was one of them. It will be interesting to see how the third goes. Sorry Nelson, but I have to disagree about compairing Bay and Transformers with Depp and Pirates. Bay isn't seen as is Depp. There are other great directors. I am sure that the movie would have a different feel to it. But who's to say it would be a bad change. We will have to wait and see.

Singer was great with the first 2 Xmen movies. They were awesome but Superman Returns sucked. And hate to break it to you but Bay doesn't have any say in who takes over the Transformers movies once he is gone.
