...really, as you declared in an interview that you are an old-school director and you prefer shooting in 2D then please don't go 3D with Transformers3.
I just read that FridayThe13th Part2, that you are the main producer of, is going to be filmed in 3D and that really worried me... I hope you won't be forced to film Transformers3 in 3D.
There is no need for 3D on Transformers3 and it won't help increasing the boxoffice results as studios managers might think.
All this marketing hype forcing focus on current 3D technologies it's not going to work as industry managers planned simply because the technology it's not up to task, it doesn't look much better than the ancient 3D seen in the '60s and that is the whole point. The objects don't look fully solid but just like a series of layers one after the other, which is distracting especially on long movies.
Personally I bet that upcoming James Cameron's Avatar is going to be a huge disappointment after having seen the trailer, and if that is a very long 180minutes movie as it's currently rumored then it will cause a lot of eye strain to many people when watched in its native 3D format, that happens even on the most expensive projection systems available in theaters worldwide. And the likely demise of Avatar will cause the demise of the 3D hype.
So, please don't film Transformers3 in 3D.
Thank You.
